Gov't Urges Parents to Use School Lunches As a Model for Family Dinner

Government-approved school meals as a model for the family dinner table?

Responding to concerns that students are throwing away the healthy food on their cafeteria trays, the U.S. Department of Agriculture acknowledged that adapting to the changes "may be challenging at first, as students are introduced to new flavors and foods in the cafeteria."

  1. No way my kid is getting chicken nuggets, french fries, and chocolate milk for dinner. Sorry.

  3. This is nothing but a ploy to line the pockets of the big institutional food corps. They know all they have to do is get those that consider themselves "Super Moms" on board and they can legally screw tax payers. These "Super Moms" have been a joke for their gullibleness to big business for some time now because they are so easily fooled.

  4. Hope they don't want to do the same with the school lunch breakfast choices. Nothing but junk most of the time!

  5. First, they "suggest". They they demand. And their "demands" are usaully followed by tax penalties, more "monitoring", and soon random and unannounced "home inspections". Because, you know, they know whats best for you and you can no longer be counted on to make the right decision (translation: the decision they think is best). Think THAT is a crazy idea? 25 years ago, police roadblocks that stoppped hundreds of innocent citizens at Nazi-type "checkpoints" was unthinkable and "crazy" too. But you opened the door, quite gleefully, and now they are barging through it. NOTHING is out of bounds now. Thanks. And don't say you weren't warned or "never thought it would come to this".
