Abortion continues to be a contentious discussion in social and political circles. Every election cycle, without fail and to varying degrees, the issue creeps up and takes it place among a plethora of other contentious subjects (click here to find out where President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney stand on the issue). Just as profoundly interesting as the debate surrounding reproductive rights (and wrongs), is the litany of questions surrounding how media outlets treat pro-life and pro-choice candidates.
Trevin Wax, managing editor of The Gospel Project at LifeWay Christian Resources, published an intriguing list entitled, “10 Questions a Pro-Choice Candidate Is Never Asked by the Media.” Clearly, the list has a conservative, pro-life bent, but it does raise some fascinating curiosities, while also challenging the mainstream media in its handling of candidates’ stances on abortion.
TheBlaze has adapted the original list to share with readers, below. Note that some of the questions have, indeed, been asked, but that, in Wax’s view, these elements have not been explored among pro-choice candidates diligently enough.
Years ago I guess I didn't really have an opinion on abortion. I never gave it much thought.
ReplyDeleteI figured it was the woman's body, so it should be her call.
Then I seen some abortions.
It's not pretty. And pardon my future graphic language in describing them.
I'm not exactly sure what I though actually occurred during an abortion. I thought it was all neat, clean and no one got hurt.
I have since changed my mind. Like I said I have seen the outcome of abortions.
I never knew they used suction to abort a pregnancy. And that the baby is literally pulled apart during that process.
Then there are the abortions that are late term. The baby is delivered and left on a table, shelf or whatever, to die. They don't give it care to live nor do they do anything to hasten the death.
I now wish I never seen those abortions, which I will not describe any further.
I could go along with some abortions, like being raped or incest, things like that.
But I don't not believe abortions should be used as a form of birth control. There are much better methods available to not become pregnant to need an abortion in the first place.
That's my two cents on the matter. I am not judging anyone who has had one or will need one in the future.
That is between her, God and the sperm donor.
If anyone does not want a baby, do not have unprotected sex.
bottom line. abortion is taking the life of the Most Innocent of human beings. the womb should be the safest place on earth for the child to grow and strengthen before birth but sadly it's the most dangerous place on earth for our precious children.
