The ACLU Wants To Know About President Obama's Drone Wars
After the CIA refused to comply with several Freedom of Information Act requests regarding President Obama's "targeted killings" drone program, the American Civil Liberties Union is taking the issue to court on Wednesday, arguing that the CIA can no longer deny the existence of a program that's been widely report on in the media and in official briefings by the Obama administration. The Bureau of Investigative Journalism reports that drone strikes in Pakistan alone have killed more than 3,000 people – including nearly 900 innocent civilians – since 2002. Drone strikes have also occurred in Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, and other nations.
More surgical strike drones are coming to a theater near you. That means that in the future more and more bad guys (at home and abroad) will be targeted and dispatched, and fewer and fewer innocent civilians will be killed. It's just a matter of fine tuning the drone strike accuracy. They are currently being tested and perfected abroad before strikes begin on US citizens.By the time they arrive here in full strike capacity they will be able to isolate a single bad guy in a crowd and put an end to his or her miserable life.
ReplyDeleteIf 2:48 is right, the troubling question becomes who is determining which ones are the bad guys? Right now, the foxes are in charge of the hen house.
ReplyDelete7:26-A court bypass vigilanti drone system, designed because of the courts own admission that they have lost control of case load #s.Even in our neck of the woods we can see how out of control the criminal justice system is,advantage criminals.Notorious gangs and gang leaders would be one primary focal point. The drones are our own Presidents admission that the criminal element will take over where allowed.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, I'll say it again...Eff the aclu!
ReplyDelete12:08-Are you really that naive to think this is about criminal control? Anarchy in the streets is exactly what the government wants. That is what the trayvon martin thing, the black panther intimidation case (that turned out not to be an issue to criminal holder) and all the other race baiting by the government is all about. They are using ignorance and "reverend" al to try to fester a race war so they can declare martial law and finish shutting us down. Stopping the criminals is the last thing on their minds. Get your head out of the sand.
ReplyDeleteMiddle East target practice.Hone in the sights and facial recognition technology.Go for full facial recognition success in spite of beards, moustaches, and head coverings.Perfect the drone strike discernment before introducing it to the US,because the killing of innocents here would be unacceptable and an abomination.Over there it's "oh well".Brace yourself. They're coming.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the cop who ridiculed the idea of armed drones operating in the skies over the USA?? If he wasn't so short, he could see over the fence surrounding the world he lives in...and understand that power seeks to preserve itself and technology NEVER gets "put back in the box". It gets better, more refined, more complex, more deadly. And it IS coming to a neighborhood near you. Biometrics, facial recognition, electronic eavesdropping, drone surveillance, cell phone tracking, warrantless searches, secret prisons, etc. How much has to be put in place before even the most somnambulent of you sheeple start thinking something's wrong?
