A new Maryland Lottery program that would allow customers to purchase Lottery tickets online is drawing heat from some retailers who say it will eat into their business.
The online gambling program, presented to the Maryland State Lottery Commission Thursday, would allow customers to purchase tickets for scratch-off, instant and Keno-like games online. That is a change from the current setup, which forces Lottery customers to go into convenience stores or other retail locations to buy tickets.
All this time, I was under the impression that gambling was BAD. A drain on the resources of mostly poor people and a catalyst for criminal activity. Addictive and a destroyer of families and communities. But every time I turn around, OUR GOVERNMENT (the same ones who put "we, the people" in PRISON for gambling rings and numbers games) not only dreams up a new game of risk, but also makes it so easy! Now, who STILL thinks they have OUR best interests at heart? Its ALL about the money!!
