If you are smart do not apply for a law enforcement job, your bid will be rejected.
A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city who rejected his application.
The second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld the lower court decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same rules apply to everyone who took the test. New York does not higher police officers that are too smart, as they claim that the very smart do not hold on to their police jobs.

There you have it in black and white. What many have said and believed.
ReplyDeleteIt was even a line in the movie 'departed'.
You don't have to be dumb to be a cop but it helps.
Wow. That says a lot!
ReplyDeleteWho else can they get to obey orders blindly without thought for human beings?
ReplyDeleteThe exact opposite happened to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd if they are too good of a shot, they are forced to join the Fire Department.
ReplyDeleteThose who are too intelligent will read and understand the laws, rather than do what their supervisors tell them to. A lot of current cops are dimwits and borderline narcissists or psychotic. That's the way they want it. So they get it. Don't believe me? What's up with all these police assaults? Macing a peacefully protesting college student who is sitting down with linked arms? Using a gun to pistol whip some guy walking down the street? Arresting protestors, not because there's a chargeable offense, but because you don't want them communicating their displeasure and you have an open order to hold people for 72 hours without charges?
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder what's going on in our police departments, when they don't wish to recruit or hire intelligent people. Or people with empathy, for that matter. It's just one of those things that make you go hmmmm....
and a smart person would not commit a crime, so we end up with crooked cops too!
ReplyDeleteand don't forget some of these cops are former military.
ReplyDeletesome with PTSD but cannot tell anyone or they will be banned from owning firearms, thus no job as a cop.
If they can't tell anyone, they can't get treatment. If they don't get treatment, they still have that gun on their hip.
Maybe that would explain some of your concerns,4:17 PM.
So let's recap worse case scenario: military person fresh from combat, where he is allowed/encouraged/ordered to kill.
Has PTSD or some other mental problem with no treatment. Life is boring now that there is no adrenalin rush from combat. Maybe has flashbacks of battles.
Now multiply that by however many are hired, in how many states, in how many cities.
This is worse case but quite possible, and probably already a reality. That would explain some of the actions of police recently.
And let's not forget the government is encouraging cities to hire military as police.
See any red flags yet?
and a smart person would not commit a crime
ReplyDeletelmao. you don't really believe that do you?
Hilarious
ReplyDeleteit would be interesting to see exactly what intelligence levels these positions require.
