  1. People can't afford to travel. That's what happens when you try to re-distribute wealth and raise taxes.

    Vote Romney

  2. Really? Taxes have barely budged yet we saw 4 million jobs evaporate 2008-2009

  4. 6:43. You are paying more in gas, food, dry goods, etc., That is because taxes have been raised. The term taxes does not only mean income tax. It means all sorts of additional fees tacked on everywhere possible.

The important question is have your wages gone up? I would guess not.

  5. The government is trying to make every company a union company.
7:10 the $8 a gallon in NJ (and PA)was a protest by some gas stations, not the actual price of gas....

  6. Airlines have been hurt bad by high fuel prices...especially those that fly worldwide. But AA has been hurt most by pension and benefit costs, and some bad judgement by their management, just like a lot of large corporations and our governments. Their restructuring will rid them of retiree heath costs and future pensions in exchange for a 5.5% match in contributions to a new 401k plan. Employees share of health care will rise. CEO's and upper management will still get their multi million dollar bonuses. And by the way, Obamas appointees that run the NTB would not let the union into the cooling off period (mandated by the railway labor act) that could have led to a strike, effectively making the union totally ineffective in over three years of negotiations before they declared bankruptcy. And they made the largest purchase of new aircraft in aviation history just months before declaring bankruptcy, but still have 4 Billion (yes, billion) in cash on hand. Who supports the one percent?? My wife is an AA employee.

  7. Anon 7.49...the Obama govt. wants government unions, not workgroup unions like APA. They are run mostly by former workers and don't have millions to contribute to campaigns. The shame is that there is not outrage over the trampling of the railway labor act by the NTB and the courts. Read the news...AA pilots calling in sick because they are the only ones left who havn't caved to the pressure and have no other recourse because they have been denied self-help, just as the other unions have. They will end up getting screwed too. Whats the most profitable airline in the US? (Southwest) Do they have unions?? (no) Are their employees happy? (mostly) They arguably have the best buisness model in the industry.
