After
As I stated earlier today, if we just come together it's amazing what can get done in a half hour, ONE person.
Maybe if we picked designated places throughout the City once a week and helped clean up, in a short period of time we'll be excited about how beautiful Salisbury can be.
I covered from Nanticoke Road all the way down to the Salisbury Police Station. It's amazing the difference. I only did the curb area but as you can see in the 3rd picture the weeds have overgrown so much it almost covers a 5 ft wide sidewalk.
To the commenter saying, "Empty promises Delaware Blogger" my promises are now fulfilled Mayor. What did YOU do today?
A commenter said in another Post, "Joe, why don't you and your supporters set an example and get out there and do the clean up before you become Mayor so everyone will know you are sincere. Maybe you would recruit some more supporters along the way."
ReplyDeleteSatisfied?
not to defend Ireton but he has been in school all week with all of us teachers. Kids return to school 27th but teachers returned on the 20th
ReplyDeleteJoe: I work for a business near Nanticoke Road, I don't want to name the business or area, but I will tell you this: I know for a fact the business owners have asked numerous times to numerous officials to take care of and maintain the road and pavements to no avail. I can't tell you how many times we (employees and employers) go out and weed the pavements like you are doing now. We take pride in our city, even if city officials don't.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we could implement something along the lines of "The Mayor's Neighborhood Clean Up Program?"
ReplyDeleteLOL-I say maybe "we" could like I'm one of Joe's assistants.
Many city workers are sitting idle.It takes good leadership to get them going. You have set a good example , go for it.
ReplyDeleteYou da man!
First white man I've seen in that area in a decade. You got a set of grapes!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing new. You've been out in Salisbury plowing the snow off driveways and sidewalks. Your our next Mayor Joe.
ReplyDeleteIf we could get a program going it could possibly involve the high schoolers and count as their community service requirement.
ReplyDeleteThis is the type of work wellfair people should be doing.
ReplyDelete100% agree if you are on welfare get out and do some work.
DeleteIt is great for you to set that example. It is also too bad that with the outrageous taxes we pay that someone else has to do it and we have lists of school supplies that parents have to buy for children to attend school, and I heard today that one school in the county is essentially cared for by volunteers from the community. And my my county taxes are about $3200 and I am afraid to mention what my Fruitland taxes are another almost $3000!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete@4:29
ReplyDeleteI don't have kids, but when I went to school, my parents would purchase school supplies for me every year. And if I ran out, they would get more. Since when did it become the schools job to purchase supplies for your kid?
Mmmmm , is that the city or the states responsibility.
ReplyDeleteWatch out Joe, this will make Jimmy mad and he'll have the chief write a citation for summin'! Webster would have already run you off before you got atarted lol
ReplyDeleteNice Job Joe!!! Looks much better.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSome houses down that way need painting!
Thanks Joe!
ReplyDeleteSince kids startied showing up with no supplies and teachers are still held responsible for their test scores.
ReplyDeleteCounty has not sprayed for weeds in our neiborhood for a couple of years now. I offers to do it for free with my pull behind sprayer but the department of ??? (forgot who I called) said I would have to be licensed to spray the roads in my own neighborhood- even if I was doing it for no charge. We have a HOA who was all in favor of me doing it. We now have to pay someone to come do it. I looked into getting licensed but it is was an incredible amount that had to be done. Is easier to buy a gun and get a carry permit!
ReplyDeleteLook 4:37 we pay up the ying yang a truck full of money. So what are we paying for?? I agree with the supplies part that's a gimme, but the gist of this article to me means We get no VALUE FOR OUR TAX DOLLARS..They always need more for this and that then threaten to pull the CORE services are taxes are supposed to support...since our GOV spends liken a drunken sailor..that does not leave allot of extra for the supplies for allot of struggling famlies..put the welfare people to work on this kinda stuff, maybe then they would motivate to better themselves.. Cause this whole attitude is the core of all our problems LAZY BUMS
ReplyDeletegood job Joe
@3:54 what about the past 3 months he has had off then? Joe shouldn't have to go around posting pictures of the dirty part of the city to get something done that is Ireton's JOB if he can't handle that he should resign.
ReplyDeleteIf more people were like you this Town would be much better off.
ReplyDeleteDid you know you are supposed to keep the weeds out of the sidewalk and gutter in front of your house or business? It's the law, as one of my neighbors now knows.
ReplyDeleteIf property owners took their own, there would be very little needs doing.
Town has no pride from the mayor down.
You did set an example, Joe.
Just remember that once you become Mayor there's a TON of cleaning up to do in the city administration dept!!!
ReplyDeleteFire all of them and get some honest, respectful people in there.
Great job Joe. This can-do-attitude is exactly the right recipe for Salisbury's next Mayor. I only wish it were legal to vote multiple times as I would just keep pressing the voting button for you.
ReplyDeletePoliticians like you are long overdue.
VOTE ALBERO FOR SALISBURY MAYOR! ! !
Way To Go Joe!
ReplyDeleteWe should have a City Clean Up Day. I would give my time.
ReplyDeleteI go by there everyday. All I can say is Thank You Joe it looks 100% better.
ReplyDeleteOMG I saw you today. I was the one who blow the horn at you.
ReplyDeleteLove It Joe!
ReplyDeleteYou are just amazing! No one would do something like that only you.
ReplyDeleteI have a shovel and not afraid to use it. Where is the next job? I think a lot of people would volunteer to help. Set a date and time.
ReplyDeleteJust think if 20 or 30 people did this how much could be done.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I believe you missed your calling. You seem to be right at home with a shovel in your hand. Better than a keyboard. PUNK!
ReplyDeleteWell look who has returned. The nasty commenters. Anonymous 9:57 get a life you big Dumb ars.
ReplyDeleteHottie !!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone could set up something with the local prisons and have them do some of this clean up also. If the judge gives someone community service this could be something they do as well. There are all kinds of able bodied people out there that are relying on others to take care of them. Time for them to step up and do their fair share.
ReplyDeleteJust want to thank you. I would volunteer to help, heck I pick up trash daily walking my dog thru Newtown.
ReplyDeleteWay to lead Joe, Ireton would never want to get his hands dirty.
ReplyDeleteIreton would be afraid that he'd break a nail!
