The average price of ground beef hit a record high in the United States in July, according to data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The BLS has been tracking the average price of a pound of 100% ground beef since 1984. In July, it cost $3.085, up from $3.007 in June.
Prior to June, the average cost of 100% ground beef in the United States had never topped $3.00.

ReplyDeleteEffin ethanol. not worth much. On east main street, across from country house is a FULL SERVICE station that sells gas without ethanol. It's a little more per gallon, but worth it IMO. Heard last nite that our reserves will be tapped to ease gas prices. As I predicted previously, just in time for the election.
ReplyDeleteEvery year about this time I can't wait for deer season to arrive. 3-4 deer will fill my freezer with enough meat to last my familiy one year.
ReplyDelete435-Last time that the strategic reserve was tapped, gas went down for about 3 days, then went higher than it was before they opened the taps. This administration will try anything, the desperation reeks.
ReplyDelete11:50. Do the math. Imagine what the price of the pump would be if you increased the demand for gas by 10% (take out the ethanol). Now which would you rather being paying? A few cents extra for the burger or a few dollars extra every time you fill up. Not sure about you but I buy burger once every 2 weeks but I'm at the gas pump 2-3 times a week.
