Initial child abuse and sex offense charges lodged
against a 45-year-old former Wicomico High School football coach were
dropped Tuesday. However, a Wicomico County Grand Jury this week
indicted David Nettles a second time and he will stand trial in
September on the same charges in the new case, but a different number of
each charge, two counts each of child abuse by a custodian, 3rd and 4th
degree sex offense.
The Child Advocacy Center launched an investigation against Nettles
last November after police received reports that an incident had
occurred between August 1997 and June 2001; a second incident is alleged
to have occurred between January 1998 and December 1998.

how can all charges be dropped and then he be recharged? Isn't that double jeopardy?
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with the coaches at that school!?
ReplyDeleteVolleyball coaches Bob Borello & Mark Kiggins went to jail for similar incidents.
Everything I've heard to date with this case sounds like a little witch hunt to me. Leave Dave Nettles alone and allow him to continue helping our youth.
ReplyDeleteBob Borello at Castle in The Sand?
ReplyDeleteMargo Handy should be proud of him.

ReplyDeleteThis guy was trouble all the way back when he was a bouncer at the Old Flying Club in Salisbury. Nice background check Wicomico. Pervs are everywhere people! Our system just keeps letting them go and they will show themselves again. Sorry about the pun.
ReplyDeleteto the dimwits who commented on here and think he's just great:
ReplyDeleteopen your eyes. it's obvious he has had issues for a long time. get over it and let the man get help and pay his dues for his wrong doings; should the court find him guilty.
It's not double jeopardy because the first case never went to trial. You can't be TRIED twice for the same offense.
ReplyDeleteWitch hunt? Lol, afraid you might want to read the indictment or attend trial.
ReplyDeleteHe helps the youth as much as Jerry Sandusky does!!!!
