For decades, there has been a First Amendment battle raging over the
Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial in La Jolla, Calif., where a large cross
anchors a tribute to Korean War veterans.
Because it sits on public property, the American Civil Liberties
Union has long argued that the cross amounts to an unconstitutional
entanglement of government and religion.
In 2011, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed, triggering an
appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, but in June, the high court justices
declined to hear the case.

I agree it represents the govt's entanglement with religion.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds everyone of the murder of Jesus Christ by the Saducees and the Roman government.
I am sure the Roman civilization sympathizers are embarrassed, not to mention the extreme embarrassment of orthodox Jews.
It should be removed.
If you don't like it then don't look at it.map
ReplyDeleteReligion has been the moral fiber that has kept countries safe.
ReplyDeleteAs religion disappears , so does honesty , hope , caring and all the things that make a family.
Most religions teach goodness and rules to abide by.
When we lose our religion , America will die.
Maybe the govt should sell that piece of property to a Veterans Association. The civil liberties union can go fly a kite.
ReplyDeleteIt is a tribute to our American Soldiers. Get over yourselves.
ReplyDeleteIf you deny Me in the presence of men, I will deny you in the presence of MY Father.
ReplyDeleteIt's a memorial to veterans, just let it be. Why not just put a few pigs out about 1000 yards and you won't have to worry about a Muslim getting close.
ReplyDeleteWhy would orthodox Jews be embarrassed by Jesus Christ's death?
