A North Carolina mayor has issued an ultimatum to town residents: pull up your sagging pants or pay a fine.
Pro Tem Carnell Robinson, the mayor of Dunn, N.C., claims the saggy pants look among many young men is bringing down the city's image and wants to enact an ordinance prohibiting the fashion statement, WRAL-TV reported.
Under Robinson's proposal, the first two violations would result in a warning, according to the station. Third-time violators could face a fine of up to $200.
Good idea, now Salisbury, MD needs to do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhy did it take so long?
Can we have a law for fat women in shorts too.
ReplyDelete....and also the slobs who wear their pajama pants out in public.
ReplyDeleteThis is BS for reasons stated above...(no pajamas, no fat chicks). I don't like seeing that sort of thing either but the fact of the matter is fashion choices are just as much a type of "speech" as monetary donations to various causes and candidates. This law oppresses people who are unlikely to be able to afford to hire attorneys to aid them.
ReplyDeleteCompletely unenforceable.
ReplyDeleteIt's hardly a fashion statement! Look at it this way, if they commit a crime, their pants will trip 'em up when they try to run away.
ReplyDeleteTypical conservative trying to control how you look, how you act. Must adhere to what they think is right and it doesn't affect them one bit.
