Anaheim Police Chief John Welter: ‘Look, Our Job Is To Shoot People’
ANAHEIM, CA—As protests over a pair of fatal weekend shootings by Anaheim Police entered their fifth day, law enforcement officials continued Thursday to ignore calls for a stricter departmental gun-use policy, claiming such rules would prevent officers from executing their essential task of shooting people. “Our job is to shoot bullets at dangerous individuals posing a threat to life and property, and we’re certainly not going to respond to a request that we stop doing our job,” said Anaheim police chief John Welter, who pointed out that all officers are required to carry guns, and that guns are for shooting people. “A policeman who fails to discharge his service revolver on a regular basis is failing to serve his community, pure and simple.” Welter added that anyone who knows anything about the history of law enforcement in Southern California should be well aware of that fact by now.

I agree , shoot them , if you don't they will run all over you.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't listen , you have to feel.
The young people of this country think everything is free and they don't have to work for it. They have forced the U.S. to a military state. Too bad , I don't break the law , so I don't have to worry.
I even purchase bullets for the police if they run short.
You will have to worry in the future. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
ReplyDeleteWe live under a very dangerous police state and ALL of us are suspects in their little order-obeying minds.
Um, This guy needs to step down immediately. Your job is not to shoot people, it's to protect and serve, and if that neccessitates shooting someone who is an active and immediate threat, then so be it. But, THAT is second.

Nothing to offer.
Well is all else fails, this guy can get a job working at the Md State Police barracks in Somerset. What are they up to so far? Two shooting deaths, one for sitting in your car and the other for not having a seatbelt.
ReplyDelete"Our job is to shoot people"??? and "...discharge his service revolver on a regular basis..."??? WTF!? THIS is his view of the function of the police?? Maybe some people need to be "discharging" THEIR weapons on a more regular basis, you know, to LIMIT this mindset. We are NOT targets, but instead, are their MASTERS. They (the police) just don't see it that way and THAT is what I've been telling you Nazi-loving yes men for a while. I'm so happy to be vindicated by the very words of the police themselves. Like Hitler or Stalin coming out and saying "hell yeah, I kill everyone and anything I want anytime I want and what are you going to do about it, except die?" Protest? LOL!! Here's a bullet for your kid, too. Your job is to shoot people, huh, Chief? Thanks. We need to know that.
ReplyDelete7:46pm - WAY more to those stories then sitting in a car and not having a seatbelt. Stop trying to justify illegal actions.
ReplyDeleteNot their JOB to shoot people but it is their job to protect lives, including their own.
6:02....thats NOT what the Chief said. And google "police brutality". You know how camera's can lie (sarcasm), but you'll be amazed at all the "protection" they give us....you'll get tired of watching before you run out of examples to watch...
ReplyDelete8:26 - So which is it? You hate the cops or you know all of them personally and intimately?
ReplyDeleteYou are a therapists dream.
