Manuel Diaz Dead: Demonstrators Storm Anaheim Police Headquarters Over Officer-Involved Shooting

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Demonstrators stormed a police department in Orange County, Calif., on Sunday to protest an officer-involved shooting that left an unarmed man dead and led to a violent clash between witnesses and police.

A crowd swarmed the Anaheim Police headquarters' lobby Sunday as Chief John Welter held a news conference to discuss what happened the night before. The protesters chanted "no justice, no peace" and "cops, pigs, murderers" as officers stood by and watched.

Welter said two officers were placed on paid leave after one of them fatally shot 24-year-old Manuel Diaz.

  2. It's time to disarm these irresponsible officers.
They keep telling us violent crime is down. Why do they keep murdering unarmed people?

Mace and a truncheon. Nothing more.

  3. First shot went to butt and Diaz fell to his knees.

Second shot to head. Diaz dead.

    Murder. Why the second shot?

  4. Here are the simple rules:
    #1. A cop approaches you, don't run.
#2. If you do run - and he tells you to stop - stop.
As his sister mentioned, "they were just standing around talking". (See Rule #1.)

And finally, the sister said, "...we can't trust the cops...".
Tell ya what, lady, the next time you get mugged, the next time your house is burglarized, or when your daughter is raped, call the local president of the gangbangers on your block - don't call the police. You can't trust 'em.

  5. If a cop approaches you and you have done nothing wrong, you better protect yourself any way possible.
They are NEVER to be trusted.
    Not even by family.
    Ef your rules 7:37.
That logic has been proven time and again completely wrong.
In Baltimore, DC, Phili, LA, all over the country.

Needless deaths of unarmed people at the hands of these morons.
Never trust a cop, even if he is there to help you.

If the gangbanger can write on a form, he can do the same job you do when (and if) you get there.

  7. It amazes me that you or I can't go out in public without being filmed or photographed from a dozen different angles. But unless a citizen films or photographs a cop blasting an UNARMED man (the easiest and best target for the police), there is never any film. What a strange yet compelling coincidence... And I wish I could get PAID leave for killing someone....protect and serve...?? who got protected and served here?
