KNIGHT: ‘Eat mor chikin’

Liberals serve up full plate of hate in attack on restaurant

The Atlanta-based, 1,600-restaurant chain, famous for its misspelling-prone cows that urge consumers to “eat mor chikin,” is under a full-scale fascistic assault, complete with obscene celebrity tweets and government bullying.

Acting more like Benito Mussolini than Paul Revere, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino said he will block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in his city. Chicago Alderman Proco Joe Moreno said he will stop Chick-fil-A from building its second Chicago store. In Philadelphia, Councilman James F. Kenney sent a letter to Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy advising his company to “take a hike and take your intolerance with you.” Meanwhile, the Jim Henson Co., owner of the Muppets, has canceled a deal to provide toys for Chick-fil-A kids’ meals. This is just the beginning.

What has the dastardly company done? Chick-fil-A’s management, while not political, is an unapologetic defender of traditional values. Like the Boy Scouts, the company has enraged liberals who are at war with nature and nature’s God.

This isn’t the first time Chick-fil-A has been singled out. In February 2011, homosexual activists launched an unsuccessful boycott when they found out that the company donated food to the Pennsylvania Family Institute’s marriage retreat. Seriously, it doesn’t take much to tick them off.

Publishers Notes: I am filing a FOIA request Monday to find out if Mayor James Ireton sent a similar message to the parent company.

  1. I like many others will go out of my way to support Chick-fil-A more than ever. The Government has no business blocking any establishment because of someones moral views. If customers wish not to go there, so be it. This is truly Government Socialism, and must be stopped.

  2. All democrats statewide as well as nationwide should take a long hard look at this Chick-fill-a situation.

I don't know when or why liberalism became so controlling but I do know this. As a conservative woman I have found myself shut up, ignored and shut down whenever I have spoken up to debate the other side of an issue and I'm tired of it.

We were given the freedom of speech in this country to be able to oppose the other side on any given issue with the hope of coming to the best possible outcome.

More and more you find liberals are shutting up opposition voices and when politicians get in the loop you can bet it smells of communism.

Good for you Joe that you're checking on this.

  3. intolerance:
    in·tol·er·ance [in-tol-er-uhns]
    noun
    1.
lack of toleration; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc.
Seems to be a fitting word to describe both sides, kinda reminds me of the word racist.

  4. So the fanatic liberals want to force their views on others. Mmmm.

Good for Mr. Cathy for standing up for his values. Was he not supposed to speak his values because it would hurt someone's feelings?

This is why the Country is in the shape it is in because we have to worry about everyone's feelings. Most kids nowadays have NO values and NO respect for anything.

We should all take a lesson from Mr. Cathy.

  5. Time to boycott all the cities that engage in it also.

  6. Chick fil a should stick to making fast food. Isn't that what they do?

  7. Liberals ONLY want "freedom of speech" when they AGREE with it. Chick-fil-A executives NEVER said they wouldn't hire gays, serve them, or threatened them in any way. They merely spoke their OWN viewpoint. And have been castigated by those who flame on at the slightest (percieved) insult. I'd rather (any day) to have lunch at that restaurant then to be on the sidelines at the latest Gay Parade in San Fransico watching a bunch of whack jobs on floats prancing in G-strings, bare-assed in thongs and pink boas, or showing up at Catholic masses in the most outrageous costumes, not to receive communion, but to do some heavy-handed "in-your-face" disruption of something they don't respect or wish to hear. Back to my opening statement....

  10. Salisbury already has a Chick-Fil-A. I don't think we need any more fast food restaurants of any variety or philosophy. What we DO need is a supermarket to replace Super Fresh. I hope the mayor and is challenger will work on that.

  12. 11:41 - Yes, that is all they are DOING. Chik-Fil-A has done nothing AGAINST any gay people. It's creator did however respond to a question with the truth as he sees it. Only liberal mental cases would make this an issue.

You mean just like how that chain restaurant serves up intolerance and bigotry?

I'm more worried about religious authorities molesting or harming my children then I am of Gays.

@ 1:28 What time? Ill make sure to bring all of the Gays I know and sit right next to your table!

  14. 7:02- This "Little Chain Restaurant" hasn't "served up" ANY intolerance OR bigotry! The Founder merely gave his opinion. They haven't turned anyone away to eat or work there. Get over yourselves.

I know, I know: Only YOUR opinions are noteworthy. You are the true bigots here.

  15. Well, this is just the hot button issue for the moment. The corporation in question since induction has had these strong religous beliefs. I feel as though the beliefs of the corporate leaders are their to have. Noone should be thwarted for standing by what they believe in. I do also believe that we as a people need to be more open minded. Education and an open mind is the key to success. I do believe the gay groups are going a little strong on this. Leave it be and it will disappear. I do not support Mr. Cathy's beliefs, but they are not my concern. The company has been giving money to "anti-gay" groups for 10yrs or more. So why is it a big deal now? I do support the local business, because it is a local business and doesnt neccissarily have the same views. I think if one is advocating for gay right then instead of throwing the hatred you are protesting against your time would be better suited to educated and make people understand why homosexuals should have the same rights. Also, I think we all need to remember there is a seperation on church and state. Your religous beliefs do not have anything to do with what is right under the law. Oh, in closing, I am a proud gay male!

Do you listen to what you say?

How is CFA being intolerant and bigots?

CFA serves gays food. CFA provides gays with employment. CFA donates to gay charities.

You, and people like you, are the ones who profess hate, intolerance, and bigotry.

You outright LIED trying to make CFA the bad guy here.

I want a shower just reading your garbage.

  17. 7:02-Explain just how you managed to spin an opinion into intolerance and bigotry on the part of this restaurant's owner?
You are the one who is intolerant because you do not respect other's beliefs. As far as "bigotry" where has this restaurant discriminated against anyone?
And for the record don't waste any of your precious time worrying that a religious authority is going to molest your child. It's the general public that's the worry. Percentage wise molestation among the general public is far more greater.

Of course they do. This was covered either in this thread or another.

It's not that important to me to look for it and show you.

Mr. Cathy has shown his beliefs. Yet he still does not show hate. Gays are not denied service. Gays are not denied employment.

He says he disagrees with that lifestyle, but not against your right to live it.

I fail to see any hate or intolerance in what Mr. Cathy says or does.

He voices his opinion about gay marriage but still accepts them with open arms.

Or at least that's how I see it.

  19. "CFA donates to gay charities"

This is patently and demonstrably false. In fact, a quick Google search for the Winshape Foundation proves the exact OPPOSITE to be true. Chik-Fil-A, as an organization, has a long history of donating to anti-gay organizations. To the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

So what? It's their money, they can give it to whoever they want.

If you're not for something, that automatically makes one anti something doesn't it?

He is for traditional marriage so of course that would make him anti gay marriage.

Gay people are for gay marriage so I guess that would make the anti straight marriage.

I don't see where it's a bad thing to be anti gay whatever. It's a personal decision. There is no right or wrong.

There is however, disagreement on what is right and wrong.

I happen to think Mr. Cathy is right and gays are wrong.

I am sure gays think they are right and Mr. Cathy is wrong.

    I disagree with that.

So I'm anti gay? If I am, so be it. I have no problem with it.

Gays probably do. But I don't care. I care about my decision, not anyone else's.
