Construction of one of Maryland's largest solar energy projects
has begun at a state prison complex near Hagerstown.
Gov. Martin O'Malley joined a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday for the 20-
megawatt array of solar panels on 160 acres of state-owned land near the Maryland
Correctional Institution.

A waste of money , the maintenance on this project will undermine any and all cost savings.
ReplyDeleteSolar panels do not last very long!
Just which idiot thought it was a good idea to install solar which costs more to produce electricity than traditional means? Oh, that's right. These are prisoners. They deserve more expensive electric.
ReplyDeleteI did measure the pay-back on this project , turns out to be "NEVER".
ReplyDeleteBetter off giving the prisoners poison and save millions.
o'malley has probably lined his pockets or received some benefit from this wretched deal.
ReplyDeletecitizens, hold on to your wallets because the tax man cometh to pay for this soon to be failed project.
My neighbor installed solar on his roof for approximately $60K. Just how long does he have to live to realize a savings?
ReplyDeleteyeah a complete waste... that will barley cover the electric the jail uses... in fact it probably is less which means its worthless... not to mention what if it breaks or needs repair?

You can be sure this is exactly what happened. Kinda like the almost $90,000 Kaiser (leading Solyndra investors)/ Solyndra
executives and board memebers gave to the Obama campaign..
11:16 you do realize that the "Obama gave money only to donors" line has been thouroughly debunked right?
ReplyDelete11:34---- What part of~ Kaiser (leading Solyndra investors)/ Solyndra executives and board members gave the Obama campaign almost %90,000 in campaign contributions~ do you not understand?
ReplyDeleteTry as hard as you like but there is no debunking this-PERIOD END OF STORY! WAKE UP!
1200 the part you don't understand is that plenty of other firms who either did not donate money or who even donated to his political opposition received gov. subsidies clown. Take a break from the limbaugh kool aid for a day and start looking this stuff up yourself.
ReplyDeleteFree power for the Electric chair.
