  1. Just the other day they said OC was getting money for new buses. Why isn't the price of bus fare enough to cover all the costs. This money should be used somewhere else that it is needed. If a small business needs to have a storage building built will the government hand them a check? NO they either have to raise their prices or save the money so that they can do this.

  2. OC, for whatever reason, began the practice of offering free bus transportation to groups who rented the Convention Center. The problem is that it is too often abused because attendees give away their ID cards. You would need to be blind not to notice it. It is amazing just how many European firefighters show up for the Firemen's convention then disappear after the bus pass expires. Same goes for Graduate week. There are European high school graduates wearing free ride bracelets everywhere until the free rides are over. These kids can afford a $3 ride all day pass as can be seen in how many blow $50 to rent a scooter. If the free bus pass avoids injury to those kids who party too much, why then doesn't Town Management ban the rental of scooters to them? Let's not forget the Maryland Municipal employees who come here for their convention. The OC taxpayer has to fund free bus rides for them too! If they want to spend money on OC transportation, fix all the handicap lifts that don't work and, for heaven sake, CLEAN all the grease and soot off of them so that those that use them don't ruin their clothing. Finally, for $5, they could buy a can of paint to keep the buses as well maintained looking as the trash collection vehicles. Except for new buses, the fleet looks pretty sad so they may has well buy some new ones with the free money.
