Last night literally thousand of people gathered in Willards for a spectacular fireworks display. More importantly it was a Family event with fantastic live music, great food vendors, (we brought a small grill and Nathan's Hot Dogs) lots of activities to keep the kids busy but more importantly as far as the eye could see it was one Family after the other enjoying great fellowship.
Tonight Salisbury will hold their event but we're told because of the proximity of homes in the immediate area the fireworks won't be shot up as high in the air, (this coming from several experts I know in the business) so you'll need to be at the event and right underneath it to get a good view.
Be prepared for a LOT of speeches beforehand as this is traditional coming from the group running the event. I'd like to thank my sisters mother in laws brother who knows the cousin of the guy running the fireworks who contacted an employee of public works who's ex husband knows a friend of the Mayor who spoofed a call to Albero in order to make contact with his friend who owns a fireworks company. You know how it works at these events.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!
Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteOur family will be watching fireworks in Hebron tonight. After the fiasco with Salisbury not having fireworks (that my tax dollars pay for) I will never watch them here again ever. Besides Hebrons show is far better anyway. Salisbury politics suck!!
I was at Willards last night and it was wonderful! Great show great time!
ReplyDeleteJoe, hope we see you there tonight. Don't think we can stomach any more Jim Ireton and Mike Dunn.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny.
ReplyDeleteIf there's a volunteer fire department in the community having fireworks it will always be the best. Everything else is too commercialized. I'll be in Hebron tonight with my family and friends.
ReplyDeleteToo funny Joe!
ReplyDeleteI'll also be in Hebron tonight, Hebron has been a ritual since Mike Dunn and his controlling council voted to shut the fireworks down.
Dunn voted to shut the fireworks down, but voted for giving those Old Mall scammers a $14,000,000 TIF
One thing is for sure Mike Dunn, you have not been forgotten son.
Willards last night, Hebron tonight. Never again in Salisbury for me. They probably don't want them very high tonight due to how many would be able to stay home and watch from there. They want it to appear to be a huge crowd. Probably won't be as many in Salisbury tonight as there was at the game last night to see those fireworks. Mike, you screwed up years ago and now trying to kiss up. I will never trust you again.
ReplyDeleteFireworks in Willards were great as always. Police directing traffic afterward was less than desireable. Took me 1/2 hr to get back to Pittsville. Sat on Old Ocean City Rd for at least 15 minutes while they let side street exit instead of alternating traffic flow.
ReplyDeleteBut everything else was great. The Stand band was excellent. Well behaved crowd. Hope they keep it up for years to come.
The fireworks in Hebron last night were great, maybe even better than Willards. Maybe next year they could have some fire police directing traffic for the folks trying to turn left out of the carnival grounds.
ReplyDeleteThe fireworks in Salisbury were fantastic! The perfect spot was on the Bennett fields where you could comfortably spread out with a perfect view. The fireworks were shot plenty high enough to see from far. I don't see why this shouldn't be happening every year. The turnout was quite large.
ReplyDeleteThinking Salisburys locqation wasnt the best. Wondering if the old mall propert would of been better suited. What do you think Joe?
