Young Americans ‘So Frickin’ Stupid’ They Shouldn’t Get To Vote

Appearing in a video published online on Thursday, Jonah Goldberg, editor-at-large for the neoconservative National Review Online website, explains that he believes letting 18-year-old Americans vote is a big mistake that should be taken back.

Advocating that conservatives should “literally” beat young people into political submission, Goldberg said that young voters are “so frickin’ stupid about so many things,” which is why, in his view, the system must change.

  1. Joe I have to agree with you on this one. My 22 year old acts like she is 12 sometimes.

  2. And exactly WHO was responsible for the 18 year olds' upbringing to assure that they knew enough about things to know how to vote?

Sure, some kids decide to be hardheaded and ignorant, and these will probably not vote anyway. The ones who learned about Constitutionality and values will show their responsibilities at the polls.

  3. I absolutely agree unless they are serving in the armed forces. Then hopefully they will be smart enough about issues to decide on who is best to serve their country.

  6. Why do you think Obama has spent most of his time Campaigning at high schools and colleges. He is preying on the ignorant, naive and gullible.

Huh, funny, my parents must have raised me right then because I sure am ready to vote and make informed decisions.

How can any of you with kids go pointing fingers and denying us the right to vote simply because we are young. You were young and naive once as well, its part of growing up.

Seems to me that our country is in the outhouse, not because of today's young people, who are just now finding out the joy of voting for the lesser idiot, but rather their parents and grandparents. It's your generation that sits in congress, on the boards of those banks too big to fail, and send the next generation to die for some meaningless cause(oil).

I can run down to walmart and find plenty of people in there 40s, 50s, and 60s who would make the 18 year old fry cook at McDonalds look like Einstein.

If you want to start taking away our right to vote perhaps it's time to consider revoking driving and hunting licenses after the age of 55; because, surly after that they are too senile to be considered responsible behind the wheel or with a firearm, and if that's the case, maybe they shouldn't vote either...

  9. Parents have the ultimate responsibility to educate their children, especially when a public education fails to teach important truths about our country's founding fathers and the battles fought to become a free republic. Unfortunately, too many families now spend too much time sitting in front of tvs becoming dumb and dumber all the time, while they are allowing the ignorant politicians strip away their freedoms once enjoyed by our ancestors.
