Sears, Where "5-Minute Guarantee" Means "We Guarantee To Stop The Clock Before It Reaches 5 Minutes"

Consumerist reader Anna says years of unpleasant experiences have soured her on shopping at Sears. But when she saw the store was selling a 20-inch toolbox for only $9.99 with free in-store pick-up — and a guarantee that she would get that order within five minutes of showing up at the counter of get a $5 coupon — she decided to give the once-great retailer another shot.   2. Why does Sears always want my information when I make a purchase? Do they report my every move to the government? I only shop there as a last resort.

  3. There was a time when everything I ever wanted I got from Sears - then I moved to Salisbury. Stopped after I got two ties from a 2 for $25 table and they rang it up for $42 saying one of them didn't qualify. Seven years later tried again only to find their invasive questioning at check out was too much. That was five years ago. Haven't been back since, and can not think of any circumstance that would change my mind.

  5. 5-minute service is a joke. been there-done that.. employee asked to see my ticket after 4+ mins-took it with him- clock stopped-20 mins later he brought my order. called 800# to complain-wasted my time & phone. NEVER again.
