WILMINGTON – Visitors can explore the world of rock climbing at Alapocas Run State Park’s “Ready to Rock the Run” event on Saturday, June 16th from 3 to 5 p.m. This free event will allow visitors to discover the sport of outdoor rock climbing, sign up for climbing classes or a climbing camp (if spaces are still available), and see some great climbing demonstrations, courtesy of event partners Eastern Mountain Sports and The Delaware Rock Gym. Parking for the event is available at the Bancroft Mills parking lot on Bancroft Mills Road.
In addition to its rock climbing area, Alapocas Run State Park features the Can-Do Playground, the historic Blue Ball Barn, and a multi-use trail that connects to the Northern Delaware Greenway. The park is open from 8 a.m. until sunset, year-round.
