Residents can turn in any gun in Prince George's County and
receive up to $100 in gift cards for each gun.
The county is teaming up with the NAACP in the Gift Cards for Guns program in an
attempt to reduce gun-related crimes. The program provides an incentive for those
who are willing to anonymously turn in their weapons for Visa gift cards.
"The life you save may be your own. You just never know," says Florena Carter of
Hyattsville, whose son Sephan was murdered by her brother.

if her brother killed her son, seems she should have more important family issues to deal with then this stupid program.

ReplyDeleteI bet all the criminals and those who posses guns for illegal situations are gonna line up real quick to get them a $100 gift card. Yes sir reBob, this is going to be a real effective program. Again, to quote the renown philosopher, Ron White " you can't fix stupid".
every household in that county has at least 1 gun and most are automatic weapons.
ReplyDeleteThese by-back programs provide an opportunity for people to get rid of junk guns at a profit. Occasionally a valuable or historic gun gets turned in by someone who doesn't know what they have. I'll bet those never see the melting pot or the ocean depths.
