Mayor Jim Ireton So Drunk He Can't Remember He Called
It was a beautiful evening Saturday night when we gathered with several friends at our home to enjoy a bon fire. As we were enjoying our evening my cell phone started ringing. It was 11:38 PM and wouldn't you know it, it was Mayor Jim Ireton. I was somewhat surprised because of the hour but I opened the phone after showing my Wife who was actually calling.
Mayor Jim Ireton was clearly drunk and wanted to tell me that he knew I had this election won. He knew that Salisbury News was much bigger than the Daily Times and that too many people in Salisbury are already saying Joe Albero was going to win this election.
The Mayor went on to tell me that we had a lot of the same views for Salisbury but before he stepped down and showed his support for me he wanted to know if I'd be interested in meeting with him Sunday at noon at his Office. He went on to say that he knows he can't beat me and he's done fighting. He mentioned something about how the people love me and support me and he knew I'd make a great Mayor because I care.
I agreed that I would meet with the Mayor on Sunday. The next morning I headed up to the GOB and when I arrived at 11:50 AM the Mayor's vehicle was not there. I called him on the same number he called me from, (his cell phone) and there was no answer. I then sent him a text message saying I was at the GOB waiting for him. Again, no reply.
I waited until 12:10 PM before I called him again, this time leaving a message on his phone stating I had waited long enough and since he hadn't responded to any of my attempts to contact him I didn't appreciate my taking family time to come meet with him and his not responding. I then stated I felt he owed me a reply call. I never got one.
At that point, since Jim was so down on the phone Saturday night I called one Council Member as I grew even more concerned he hadn't replied. After explaining the call Saturday night and his not responding, they agreed someone needed to go check up on the Mayor.
It turns out Chief Duncan made contact with Mayor Ireton and explained my concerns. The Mayor stated he had no clue what she was talking about, he hadn't spoken with me last night. The Chief responded asking if I'd be willing to turn over my phone records.
When I originally answered the phone Saturday night I put the phone up to my Wife's ear so she could tell it was Mayor Ireton. He sounded pretty trashed and she confirmed right away it was him. I waited around in Salisbury at my Office to get some kind of reply to make sure the Mayor was OK so when I left Salisbury I drove directly to the Police Department and showed staff my cell phone proving the Mayor did in fact call me very late Saturday night and they were to relay that information to the Chief.
I think we can all agree, when someone drinks that much alcohol it can become a truth serum. My conversation with the Mayor made it blatantly obvious I had a larger following, (according to his own words) than the Daily Times, people he was running into were stating I was going to win this election and between the two of us, he wasn't going to fight me in a re election bid for Mayor. The Mayor had exposed his full deck of cards.
The scariest part of all of this is the fact that the Mayor does not recall, (so he says) ever making the phone call. If that's the case he might want to have someone hide his cell phone so he's not able to make anymore drunken phone calls. He had every opportunity today to pick up the phone and call me and simply say, why are you calling me and texting me. At that point he could have told ME that he didn't make the call Saturday night. That didn't happen because he knew he screwed up. He was sleeping off a hard night of drinking and when the Chief of Police arrived he claimed he wanted an investigation of some sort into WHO made that late night phone call. HELLLOOOOO! Are we talking about a black out here? I don't thinks so.
Jim has lost the support of most of his former friends. The Daily Times has to be sick of his temper tantrums, (as are all of us) he's admitted to me personally he can no longer afford to financially stick with being Mayor. He has personally seen my Maryland Driver's License, yet claimed last week that I wasn't a resident of Salisbury. The guy is done as Mayor. You know it, I know it and after Saturday nights phone call, even he knows it.
well, at least he's good at something
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty scary. To be that intoxicated and not remember what you do is beyond belief. I'd say our Mayor needs to quit hitting the bottle.
ReplyDeleteMercy! oh Jimmy...
ReplyDeletesounds like a phony story to me. A true politician would never concede defeat before the battle has begun. You have my support Joe, but this story reeks.
ReplyDeleteAn Absolute disgrace---he should resign immediately. He needs to be in rehab for his alcohol issue tomorrow if not sooner. If anyone knows someone who can intervene and get him help.. but in the mean time he should resign!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've all done stupid crap after a night of drinking. The dreaded ex phone call or text in the middle of the night, etc. They need to come up with a cell phone app that if you are intoxicated the phone wont work unless its for a cab or 911.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Liarton is concerned, I don't think he needs rehab just yet. He did something stupid and embarrassing. I get why you are ticked Joe. If he would have just picked up the phone and talked to you then I think you would have kept this to yourself. The fact he is calling for an investigation, is just stupid and wrong.
Saw him at Mojos
ReplyDeleteCalling your opponent a drunk. And we are to believe you will bring civility to office? You were probably duped. I think you should admit it and say you are sorry for that vile post.
ReplyDeleteOh puhleese, where was the outrage when Barrie Tilghman was in office? How many times did you vote for her? She was drunk or had been drinking most of her tenure. Drunk when she and her daughter attacked Rachel Polk. Ireton has every legal right to drink as does anyone else 21 or over. He also has the right to make a fool of himself and wake up with regret or lack of memory just like most of Salisbury does every Sunday morning. Get over your self righteous selves.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 8:19, the call came in from the Mayor. I spoke directly with him and my Wife could hear him speak as well. Folks, think about it. What else do they have left other than to say I was duped. The photo images above do not lie. It happened, move on. For those of you sending me messages about a bon fire in Delmar, what, I'm not allowed to go visit my other properties? Am I under house arrest in Salisbury? Am I not allowed to go visit my Wife and Grandson. See you at the polls.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 8:27, aka Chuck Cook, OWN IT then. Don't deny it ever happened. Don't call for an investigation for phone records, which I'm fully willing to do, by the way. Apologize for asking me to meet the Mayor at the GOB Sunday at noon and not only not showing up but refusing to respond to ANY of my messages.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see him out drinking Saturday night?
ReplyDeleteDid he have his shirt on?
You are mentioned in the Daily Rag again today.
ReplyDelete"There's not a single politician, not a single blog that can argue this," Ireton said. "(They say) there's a parking problem downtown. No, there's not."
Jim Ireton skated through the election on the coattails of Debbie Campbell and then ferociously attacked her. Jim Ireton you might think the voters will forget that, but guess what babe, your political career is TOAST!!
ReplyDeletei wholeheartedly believe the mayor was out doing some drunk dialing. he used to drunk dial a friend of mine all the time but it wasn't to discuss politics. mr. albero should just be glad the mayor didn't try to convince him to meet at the mayor's office that night :)
ReplyDelete8:38 I heard he used to get blind drunk at Flavors, hit on guys and take his shirt off! Were you there?
ReplyDeleteYes this is bad. I will concede that most people have done things they would not normally do while under the influence of alcohol. I would also agree that this mayor has been seen on many occasions patronizing local drinking establishments in an intoxicated condition, doing things like taking his shirt off in bars and then driving home afterward. This is not the behavior one should expect from an elected official. Jim should have answered the phone or returned your calls. You are right. He owns his actions and now he owns the fallout from them. Jim, you live in a fishbowl when you are elected to office. As far as alcohol being a truth serum? Sometimes it can be. I think that's the case here. He is frustrated that he cannot be the king. He's frustrated that the people who once supported him are growing tired of his childish antics. He's frustrated that the system of checks and balances built into our representative form of government is doing it's job and preventing him from having absolute rule and it has him wanting to quit. He will follow suit with the typical political response now that he is sober and he will deny everything. If he pursues this request for an explanation it will unfold almost identically to the Congressman Weiner sexting scandal that ultimately led to his resignation. Jim...man up and admit to this fiasco before it causes unnecessary embarrasment to your family, your party, and yourself. But it's whatever.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a guy we also put in front of our children as a teacher in school?
ReplyDeleteteacher teacher I declare I can see your underwear.
ReplyDeleteYou are peaking too soon. This sort of stuff doesn't help your campaign. And, if Ireton was going to endorse you, he certainly won't now. Start thinking strategically.
ReplyDeletebwahhhhaaahhhaaaa..........disgusting!! ...but not surprising...
ReplyDeleteThat late night phone call while drunk reminds me of this song.
ReplyDeleteJake Owen - Kiss Me When You're Drunk
He's probable gone eat the barrel now. Too much embarrasment.
ReplyDeleteIs this Mayor Iretons "Anthony Weiner" moment where he claims someone else must have gotten a hold of his cell phone and made the call? Just be glad he did not send pics of himself like the former congressman did. The good people of Salisbury deserve better than Mr. Ireton. Is he really that stupid?
ReplyDeleteJoe, you may not publish this due to your impending run, but I strongly feel that Mayor Ireton has two strong points: His ability to secure grants ( which you probably disagree with, but must concede is a neccesary evil), and his efforts to clean up the Wicimico. A healthy and vibrant river is essential for downtown growth/ revitalization. I hope that when you win, you'll continue his initiatives...Thanks, and see you in the G.O.B!
ReplyDeleteWBOC SHOULD be all over this.
ReplyDeleteWhy?
DeleteTypical liberal democrat behavior.
ReplyDeleteSecuring grants when the government is broke is not wise in my opinion. I'd rather have leaders that can run an efficient operation while cutting expenses, not getting grants and spending money that we cannot afford 9:52 I hope Joe will cut waste, not spend like a liberal Dem. The "just get a grant mentality" has to change or the country is doomed.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is crazy!
ReplyDeleteI would assume that if Joe published this on his site that he does have the actual proof to back what he is saying or this could be a major mistake. He pretty much has the batt;e won already so why would he just make this up?

ReplyDeleteI agree 10:58! Well said.
ReplyDeleteTo those of you sending in comments challenging the validity of the images shown above, I would be MORE than happy to show Chief Duncan the information from my cell phone. However, I will NOT publish Ireton's phone number as I do not want him harassed on that line.
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned in the original Post, I stopped in the SPD and showed them ALL of the information from that call. Chief Duncan was not in or present.
There's no scam. Remember, I'm the one that was on the phone with him for more than 7 minutes and my Wife heard his voice as well. Ireton made the call but simply cannot seem to recall what he had done Saturday night.
I have known Jim for many years now. I can assure you I know his voice and even manorisms. You might dupe me for a second or two but not 7 minutes.

ReplyDeleteJoe didn't make this up. Even to entertain that idea is absurd. This is one of those "truth stranger/better than fiction" moments.

YES!!
joe, he may had been trying to get wit ya! lmao. maybe now he will move far away like davis ruark did! [hopefully]
ReplyDeleteIf you want a full time, respectable mayor increase the salary and expectations to full time. A Salary of $100,000 per year would be comparable to other jurisdictions. To justify the salary eliminate John Pick and Lore Chambers positions and create a new City Adiministrator’s position at half the current salary. Problem solved.
ReplyDeleteIn vino veritas.
ReplyDeleteWell they call him Prince Charming, cant speak a word when hes full of ludes. Because he drinks alone. One Bourbon, one scoth and one beer. Jim drinks alone with nobody else. He has to fight for his right to party. What a ship of fools.
ReplyDelete11:59, I was against a council manager form of government.
ReplyDeleteNot any more!!!!
And cheaper than your suggestion!
This is crying out for a boy George song/vid to go along with it. Come on.
ReplyDelete@11:59 AM
ReplyDeleteWhat would increasing the salary to 100K a year do? I think, to be fair, the Mayor should make what the MEDIAN income is of his jurisdiction. THAT would be fair, and give incentive to try/do everything in his/her power to raise that median income. There would be a direct incentive.
Everyone complains that their politicians are "out of touch" with the common man. It's simple... dictate that their only means of income is the median of the income of their constituents.
This would quickly route out the opportunists and career politians. I think this should apply to all political representatives.
Actually he was being very gracious and forward thinking, calling to concede and congratulate before the rush began.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this news worthy???
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe for checking up on him. He could have been in trouble. You are always doing good for others. You are a saint.
ReplyDeleteI am far from any legal expert but, it seems to me that, when a public official calls a citizen at home late in the evening, that's harassment. It doesn't matter whether or not he was under the influence of anything. What does matter though is whether he made the call from a phone that the City funds or a personal phone. If the former, he was mis-using his official capacity in additional to the harassment. File a complaint and the SPD can't legally cover it up.
ReplyDeleteJimmy has burned all of the bridges that got him where he is today. He has no where to turn except the bottle, just like Tighlman. That call was surely a cry for help, I hope he gets himself straight.

Rehoboth Beach is not far enough away. However, if he gets arrested on the beach again he might be gone a long time.
anonymous 12:47, I trly do not feel in any way, shape or form that Jim Ireton was harassing me at all. It was an honest call. Yes, he was intoxicated and I have no problem with that. Perhaps some of you didn't understand the whole police chief thing. We were worried about his well being. He said when he was getting off the phone he was going to bed so when he didn't show up at noon I was somewhat worried. When he didn't return calls or messages I became more worried. When we learned Jim was OK, then and only then was I ticked off. I could have been spending time with my Wife and Grandson. It was completely RUDE for him not to respond to any of my messages.
ReplyDeleteHe could have easily called me back or returned my text message, as he has always done so in the past.
More importantly, I have no interest in making ANY claim Jim harassed me in any way. That simply did not happen. His call Saturday night was fair, honorable and done with good intentions. Sunday was a different story.

It would have to be voted on by the citizens. It didn't fly last time.
I have mixed feelings on it, but there needs to be a balance of power between the executive branch and the legislative branch. The current form of government can and will work with the right person in the executive branch. Unfortunately we were fooled again, this time by Jim Ireton.
Such a lovely poem 11:44.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have written it any better myself
Is anyone willing to spearhead a Recall Petition on Jim Ireton?

ReplyDeleteNo One Will Be Able To Touch YOU!!!!
Someone in Jim position should know better then this.We all know to well how drinking makes us express our feelings easier. It can destroy someone.
ReplyDeleteah, no sir... Jim Ireton always knows which end is up... Problem is he always has his wrong end up like a $5 street hooker..
ReplyDeleteOn one hand I feel sorry for Jim. Can just imagine how lonely he was to pick up the phone and call. It makes me think he doesn't have a friend in this world.

I've got a better idea. You spearhead it and I will sign it.
Jim Ireton needs to resign immediately. A lonely drunk on a Saturday night will end up doing something detrimental to himself or the City.
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton = Recall
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton = Recall
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people read this blog and I truly can't believe the parents of his students don't complain to Dr. Fredericksen or the Board of Education about his distasteful actions. I know he wouldn't be teaching my kids.
ReplyDeleteI will put my money where my mouth is and make a very large donation to your cause. No one has a better head then you,Joe and I know you will win this hands down.
ReplyDeleteJoe
ReplyDeleteI was just at the bank and I saw a couple of girls (co-eds)Looked like Obama supporters to me - they were posting Anti-Albero signs on the Plaza and at the GOB. I took a photo with my phone but I don't know how to text it.
A friend was telling me about this today and I couldn't believe what he was saying. After reading this article and now the comments I do believe the Mayor needs to be recalled. I also agree no one is going to beat Joe in this race.
ReplyDelete3:43...what exactly does an Obama supporter look like?
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't the number on there to verify he actually called?
ReplyDeleteWho do you expect to run against you Joe?
ReplyDelete3:43
ReplyDeleteGo into your pictures. It should be saved in there. Once you find it, there should be an option to send a picture/text. Send it to Joe using the number at the top of the SBYNEWS page.
I believe in you Joe and all that you stand for.Life will treat you well.
ReplyDelete(^_^)
Jim I know you are reading this so do the right thing and step down now.You still have time to do the right thing.Let someone with a business mind and great moral character run the city.
ReplyDeleteNobody needs to be recalled! Heck, by the time you got it arranged it would be election time! Look, if there's anyone here commenting that hasn't made a drunk moment dial that turned out to be awkwardly unwise, then you are probably too young to drink and vote! I, at 58, have made myself a rule to turn the thing off when the bottle opens. The reason? Well, once I called....and said....
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad day for Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteI know first hand what a Great Person you are Joe.You will be a awesome Mayor!! Salisbury is so lucky to have you run for Mayor.
ReplyDeleteI still can not believe the Mayor was harassing you!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can straighten things out it is You!We need a Man to do the job NOT a Child!
ReplyDeleteWhat on Earth was he thinking? Jim is losing it!I don't just mean the election! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 4:54pm
ReplyDeleteI am with you brother or sister!
I was a supporter of the Mayor last election and was still leaning toward him again. No more. He really should not run and make an exit. Cannot handle the pressure of the job and is melting down.
ReplyDeleteJoe Albero for Mayor!
ReplyDeleteJoe Albero for PRESIDENT!
AA will welcome him with open arms.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to Jimmy , he's a kind and generous person. He will spend your money as soon as you make it , he's the kind we all enjoy to see gone.
ReplyDeleteJim has lost my support and the support of many of my friends. He is out of control in his personal and professional life.
ReplyDeleteThis story is bizarre not to be true.
ReplyDeleteWTH was he thinking?
Doesn't he have any friends to call and vent to?

Sounds like an Ireton supporter.
You didn't recall Tilghman, Comegys, Cathcart or Dunn so just stop with all this recall nonsense, you are not going to do it you're only going to talk about it. Stop wasting oxygen.
DeleteBy this kind of action it just shows he is not in control of himself.
ReplyDeleteWe can't afford someone like this running our city.I have always know Joe to be in control even under extreme pressure. You have my vote Sir.
Jim if someone else has your phone and you are not aware if it.Well my friend that is sign you may need help.Focus on you and step aside!
ReplyDeleteBye Bye Jim Good Bye.If I said I would miss I would be lying!
ReplyDeleteHe may have a job wit the Chipidales!
ReplyDeleteBefore you go Jim you should open a new Park-N-Ride!
ReplyDeleteThey say the taller a person is the more they success in life. Jim you just blow that study all to heck.
ReplyDeleteYesterday has been and gone
ReplyDeleteTommorow will I find the sun
Or will it rain
Everybody's having fun
Except me, I'm the lonely one
I live in shame
I say goodbye to romance, yeah
Goodbye to friends, I tell you
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet
We'll meet in the end!
The end is here Jim!The end of your career and life as you know it in Salisbury!
Why did you even answer the phone that time of night and from him?
ReplyDeleteI" trly do not feel in any way, shape or form that Jim Ireton was harassing me at all. It was an honest call. "
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have his endorsement intentional or not then. Great achievement!
Joe Albero Is The New Mayor Of Salisbury Maryland.I know this is only the beginning of things to come!
ReplyDeleteHe was just experiencing the realization that the liberal Obamanista Socialist/marxist path he followed is a sham, a fraud.
ReplyDeleteHe had to reach out to a knowledgeable, respected conservative to affirm his wrongdoing.
Hey, go easy on him. This has been quite a revelation.
It has rocked his world as he figures out that the very foundations of his political beliefs are anti-American, his mentor Obama a fraud.
There's got to be more to the DT's turning on the mayor than them just being sick of his tantrums.
ReplyDeleteThat so called "newpaper" is NOT to be trusted nor are those that work for it.
I'm wondering now why they felt so compelled to write the "editorial" on the Somerset sheriff? Why did they single him out? If I stand correct, both Sheriff Lewis and OC chief have had their fair share of lawsuits which ended up costing tax payers dearly so why weren't then included?
The only plausible explanation is that the DT's is so hard up they are willing to risk any intergity they have left. What they are "reporting" lately is far from news.
Dear Mr. Albero:
ReplyDeleteI worked around politics five years as a spokesman for city hall and the police in Florida, which hopefully warrants a dash of credibility. In addition, I was a newspaper and television reporter. Tactically, I would have waited to make this episode so public. Get your ducks in a row, and proceed accordingly. A quick trigger is emblematic of the ugliness retarding contemporary American politics. It only confirms our worst suspicions about politicians and their ardent, self-righteous party affiliations. I am an independent with little respect for either party, but will likely vote for Obama because of the arrogant, self-puffing Bush-Cheney years. That cast of characters wore me out despite having limited relevance here. Your willingness to shake things up, as it were, is a strength; your penchant for personal attacks is a detriment. I believe you sincerely desire a better downtown Salisbury, which is terrific, but it can only advance with consensus rather than outright hostility. Your recent post indicating your concern with Ireton's alleged state of intoxication conflicts with the orginal. I think you capitalized on his condition for political gain, signifying a brave new world of instant gratification, pontification and allegations in cyberspace. Keep challenging conventions, but remember how much the public suffers from uncivil discourse. Too bad there is not a third party to even the playing field. Keep forging ahead within the same old constraints of the 2-party system in mind, tone down the rhetoric, and deliver.
Waiting on the DUI, Jimmy....
ReplyDeleteHis days are numbered.Have your affairs in order Jim and start packing your office.
ReplyDeleteHis entire life is an ongoing fantasy of inconsistency. Remember Joe, he’s a convicted liar by the campaign promises broken and a self-evidenced liar in every other place outside.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until April 2013. I want to write your name done now!
ReplyDeleteGo Joe Go
531, actually I'm an Albero supporter all the way! I was just doing some personal confessing that I, too have had failures in my life! Joe will win hands down and Salisbury will be a better place because of it. Just make it a rule in your life to leave the phone alone after that certain point!
ReplyDeleteI just pop the cork on my Campagne early. Well I know a sure thing when I see it.
ReplyDeleteLaura Mitchell should of stopped him. She defends everything else that DA does. They both are on thin ice.
ReplyDeleteJoe thank you for taking the high road and showing your concern for him. I am not sure Jim would of done the same.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder who else he has done this to? What is wrong with him?
ReplyDeleteWell said, 7:04pm.
ReplyDeleteWow, 704, what a pompous ass you are! I think you need to take a break from the Koolaid train for a while. Your Dems are the inventors of the "Shake things up" BS. Joe, here, on the other hand, is telling a truth that really happened. There IS a difference there, although your myopic eyes will refuse to see it. SORRY FOR YOUR CONDITION.
ReplyDeleteI watched Jim speak at the last City Council Meeting as a citizen. He will be one soon enough.
ReplyDeleteJim should resign but I doubt that he will. A lot of elected officials should have resigned but their ego doesn't allow them to do it. Good examples are Sheriff Jones, Davis Ruark, Kristy Hickman, etc. Once elected they think they can do what ever they want with no consequences. They are wrong and we have seen what happens to them. It's only a matter of time before they are forced out or forced to resign or defeated in the next election. Either way, it's always good to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I just read this post and I was floored. There is something you probably should know - Jim Ireton has a recording of this "conversation" and he was playing it for some demo-crack-head boy-toys earlier this evening. I overheard him and some of his cronies having a good laugh about it over some drinks.
ReplyDeleteI think that they think this was a sarcastic prank intended to get you riled up and make you show up to the GOB on Sunday. I heard some of it and it was pretty funny, but doesn't the mayor of the city have anything better to do with his time on the weekends than take jabs at you.

DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This tells me that we do not seem to have the power we once thought we weilded with the power of the vote.
ReplyDeleteWe have tried unsucessfully to change the nature (and people) of our local government.
We have failed to root the power mongers from their position.
Is it possible to get control of this city?
Maybe Jim is just content to be a Putz.
ReplyDeleteBetween Tilghman and Ireton they have destroyed Salisbury.I can't blame you Joe. I only wish I could afford to get out.
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton is an ass and excuse my language but it's true about two years ago my kids were playing with a ball at my aunts house with their cousins and the ball accidently rolled into his bushes when my kids went to get the ball he came outside yelling and cursing at them. At this point my husband confronted him and said it was an accident there is no reason to yell at the kids. After that the cops showed up and said that Ireton said he felt threatened but the cops actually laughed they even stated how much of a prick he is, I have absolutely no respect for him.
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton is a P.O.S.!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really embarassing to the people in and around Salisbury. He should be given the opportunity to step down and if he doesn't then be should be removed from office. This is yet another act of the 3 ring circus known as the city AND the city council. I asked, I reply I'm from East Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteI'm the mayor, Joe, you're NOT!
ReplyDeleteThe PEOPLE elected me, so just accept my authority and the progress I'm bringing to the PEOPLE of Salisbury!
This is hilarious. Brings back memories of Ireton and Comegys at council meetings right after being elected. Jimbeau accused Comegys of voting against everything because Jimbeau beat him at the polls. How many times did he remind Comegys he lost the election?
DeleteGlad i dont live in Salisbury and wouldnt admit it if i did or i would move. What a mess
ReplyDeleteone sided as usual
ReplyDeleteThis is why we need SBYnews now more than ever and Joe Albero!
ReplyDeleteTo borrow a phrase:"Stupid is as stupid does."
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to say Joe is not a man?
ReplyDeleteIreton is less than a man. Like someone mentioned earlier he is nothing more than a glorified office girl!!
Its like a cartoon book or something, you supposed to laugh or cry?
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeleteIreton is not the person to solve the our problems. Nothin but a pretty face, just like his hero, Barack.
Jim-beau thinks downtown Smallsbury is hot because a few thousand people were here during the Salisbury Festival.
ReplyDeleteThat logic would support putting high rise condos, etc., at Winter Place becasue of the crowd that went to "Pork in the Park".
He's another lunatic liberal like his idol Barack Obama.
It's 8:20pm -How many have you had Jim?? Your voters want to know.
ReplyDeleteJoe I will wear your shirt anywhere anytime!
ReplyDeleteI will also wear your bumper stickers
ReplyDeletein the right places LOL!!
Me and my roommate(female of course) think you are HOT!
Heard your radio interview the other week. I really like your ideas for the area. You are just what we need here.
ReplyDeleteI wish the election was tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor freaked out over your tee shirt at last weeks council meeting. Every time the cameras went from person to person it picked up the Albero for mayor image. I'm sure he want to ban free speech on tee shirts now.
ReplyDeleteThat commie libtard Ireton hasn't had a single good idea since he got in office. Get 'em Joe!
ReplyDeleteDunn is purchasing a house on Forest Lane so he will once again be a city resident. Do you know if this is true?
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe the volume of comments on here. You can just imagine how many we had to reject too. LOL
ReplyDeleteLook, if you want to make a difference and be heard, come down to 300 W. Main Street from 9 AM to 12 PM and get your free tee shirt and bumper sticker.
It was hilarious how TEACHERS were showing up today to get theirs.
So you know, this is one of the best Monday's we've ever experienced on Salisbury News. This article is being read all over the Eastern Shore and we thank you for all the comments.

ReplyDeleteI was watching on Pac 14. I was laughing so hard every time Joe walked in front of the camera.
Perfect!
7:04 and you are calling Bush/Cheney arrogant and self-puffing....too funny!
ReplyDeleteIreton better hope he does not have a recording... THat is wiretapping and illegal, ask NIXON..
ReplyDeleteanonymous 8:34, Dunn bought a house a long time ago in the City. Come on now, do you really think Mike Dunn would ever atempt to run for Mayor. IF he ever thoughtabout it in the past, he/they never saw Joe Albero coming. I said it in my radio interview, I'd welcome that like there's no tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI want you people to think about something for a minute. First, look at how the votes, (in numbers) went in the last two elections. Once Tilghman, Dunn and Cathcart saw how things were going they bowed out. Now, in name recognition alone I'd at least hold similar numbers to Debbie Campbell's ;ast election. That being said, now figure in ALL of the other 10,000 voters that didn't actually get out and vote for a Mayor because all they had was Comegys and Ireton. Through Salisbury News I'll be able to reach a very strong portion of those people who didn't vte and my numbers will skyrocket over a Dunn or Ireton. Also, I've stated my intent a year before the election. He doesn't have a chance, nor does anyone from SAPOA. Bring it on.
Well you have 3 votes from our house. You stood up against Tilghman and Webster and drove them out. We'll be honored to have you as our next mayor.
ReplyDeletePlease go suck on the end of a gun barrel, Joe!! pretty please ! You are one arrogant..........aaahhh you know what you are.
ReplyDeleteSweet Dreams Jim. We are putting you to bed now.
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:04 "will likely vote for Obama because of the arrogant, self-puffing Bush-Cheney years."
ReplyDeleteThat is, so far, the lamest excuse offered by anyone bent on the destruction of America since Kerry ran against Bush. Remember those wild-eyed idiots supporting him? They all had that Elizabeth Warren glazed look, and all they could say was "We hate Bush!" Ask them about Kerry's economic policy: we hate Bush. His views on national security/terrorism? We hate Bush! Swiftboat or false accusations against his comrades or Jane Fonda? We hate Bush.
Same thing here. Thanks for trying to destroy our country from within, 7:04. And that's your reasoning? Unbelievable.

ReplyDeleteNOT COOL!
If the election was tomorrow I would write your name twice!
ReplyDeletewiretapping is illegal. recording a conversation in Maryland without the permission of both parties is ILLEGAL. Joe, you have a good case here- you should let Matt Maciarello know what's happened. Your privacy has been invaded and who knows what other conversations he has recorded. The man is out of control. I would press charges tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeletePress charges for what? Some anonymous person said they overheard a recording in a bar? Yeah, that is what I'd call credible. NOT!!! I don't think Matt M could be bothered with that type of call. He said, she said, I heard, they said bullcrap.
DeleteI don't live in the City but my child does. They totally support you and yours views for a better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI would say Jim is Strong-Arming you but it is Jim Ireton we are talking about here. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou should have bitch slapped him.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 9:16, unlike the Mayor, I was not drunk nor do I feel I ever made any statement I wouldn't be afraid of going public. You see how I speak on PAC 14. That conversation on my behalf was no different. I respected what the Mayor was saying, I felt for his position as I know in his heart what he wanted to do for Salisbury but I truly believe he got pulled in by the old administration and could never return from the dark side.
ReplyDeleteThey will NEVER have me in such a position and again that scares them to death. Don't you think for a second we don't fear for unexpected possibilities, if you know what I mean. Nevertheless, I cannot allow that to run my life.
While IF the Mayor recorded our conversation I welcome him to go public with it and he has my full permission. However, IF he does so without the full version of it I would sue his ass off. I think it would be great for ALL of the people who voted for him to hear just what he was telling me Saturday night.
I saw the rerun of the Council meeting on PAC 14 where Ireton could not keep his mouth shut.
ReplyDeleteHe really needs help (but is it "on the way"?).
WTF - why did the Chief waste time on this -- does she investigate every report of someone on a booze binge or just when it's Jim-Beau
ReplyDeleteJim does not deserve your time.
ReplyDeleteJoe Albero For Mayor
ReplyDeleteHas he called today to say he is sorry?
ReplyDeleteA recall would be too difficult and a waste of time. The election will come soon enough. We are protected by a council that Ireton cannot influence with bad ideas. Wait it out and elect Joe. I believe things will start turning around very quickly.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 9:24, no, he has not called. I'm sure at this point he's so fuming mad at himself for what he did that he cannot face me, even in a phone call or text message. I'll add, I have NOT heard a word from the Police Chief either. What does that tell you. There is NO investigation and her Staff personally saw the incoming phone call from Ireton.
ReplyDeleteI'll repeat, (to those nay sayers) I refuse to publish a picture with the Mayor's cell phone number on it. I do not have to answer to you people bitching about my doing so. The authorities have seen it and are 100% convinced the call came directly from the Mayor's cell phone.
By the amount of comments it is very clear the voters are ready for a change. Thank You Joe for throwing your hat in the ring.
ReplyDeleteJim you suck!

I think that they think this was a sarcastic prank intended to get you riled up and make you show up to the GOB on Sunday. I heard some of it and it was pretty funny, but doesn't the mayor of the city have anything better to do with his time on the weekends than take jabs at you.
June 4, 2012 7:53 PM
Can you prove that he has a recording of the phone conversation or are you a troll from that anti-Abero blog!!
Scanner just said a 22 yr old has been stabbed in the neck on Church street and was non alert. SPD said to expedite Ambulance
ReplyDeleteWhere is his Press Release/Photo Op on this one? Oh that's right he is the idiot.

ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Albero:
I worked around politics five years as a spokesman for city hall and the police in Florida, which hopefully warrants a dash of credibility.

"I am an independent with little respect for either party, but will likely vote for Obama because of the arrogant, self-puffing Bush-Cheney years."
This is where you lost all credibility and proved you are an ignorant liberal retard. Anyone that would vote for Obama for any reason is a morally bankrupted idiot.
You are full of it. Maybe you'll see what a real man looks like when I head downtown this weekend.

ReplyDeleteIreton is less than a man. Like someone mentioned earlier he is nothing more than a glorified office girl!!
June 4, 2012 8:16 PM
Yep, that was me that mentioned it.
Is that a threat Paul? Do you really think your man enough? I'll be waiting.
ReplyDeleteNow that's funny Gudelski. Are you going to bring your boyfriends with you and bitch slap Joe. Gudelski is only interested in gay marriage in Maryland. Don't worry about this guy Joe.
ReplyDelete9:58
ReplyDeleteI agree. When he said that he lost all credibility and I stopped reading anything more he had to say.
Paul is just another made up name. There is no such person. Those anti-Albero bottom feeders will try anything to get a comment posted.
ReplyDeleteCan you prove that he has a recording of the phone conversation or are you a troll from that anti-Abero blog!!
ReplyDeleteJune 4, 2012 9:55 PM
Anti-Albero? Me? I love this blog and read it every single day. And yes, I have as much proof that Jim Ireton has the entire recording of his conversation with Joe as Joe Albero himself has that it took place the way he says it did. That is, I heard it with my very own ears. Aside for that: No.
LOL the anti alberos read this blog everyday where do you think they get the fodder for their blog? Idiot!

BIG DEAL!!
Has nothing to do with this thread.
BUT, I am smart enough to put a twist on it. Jim Ireton is always trying to say Part 2 crime is down. He won't tell you that violent crime is up.

ReplyDeleteIt might not be a big deal but you commented on it :)

I couldn't believe it when I learned that she had joined forces with Albero.I thought she was more intelligent than that. Thankfully we have a shining light in Laura Mitchell. She has a great future ahead of her.
June 4, 2012 12:48 PM
Hahahahaha Laura Mitchell has a bright future ahead of her? She probably does, in accounting, certainly not in politics. Remember this is the woman whose first act on council was to remove prayer from the meetings. This is the woman that runs on civility then treats others as if they are dirt under her feet. Laura Mitchell is a Jim Ireton/Chuck Cook puppet.
DeleteThere is a Paul Gudelski that lives near the school near Deers Head Hospital. My kids grew up with his kids. He has a son named Paul too who lives in Salisbury. I guess it could be either one.
ReplyDeleteWith Ireton as mayor, Salisbury has enough fireworks.
ReplyDeleteBTW - does he have any money on I'll Have Another in the Belmont Stakes?
Jim cannot be so stupid as to record a phone conversation without permission. He also cannot be so stupid as to play it and let someone else hear it. If he is that stupid, he truly does need to be removed from office and probably go to jail.
ReplyDeleteMove to the top please.
ReplyDeleteAnd, now, will the real Paul Gudelski syand up, please!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about that nutcake?
Dr. Freddy:
ReplyDeleteIt's time to give him the ax -- or get him out of any classroom before there's a meltdown or worse involving children.
Paul Gudelski's name was coming up on caller id as one who was harassing the Sby News advertisers a few years ago.
