Just Imagine How Much Money Could Have Been Saved
Ladies & Gentlemen, the following information is news you will NOT see in the MSM, especially the Daily Times.
For the past 6 years Councilwoman Debbie Campbell has been challenging the former Mayor, the current Mayor as well as the former Council referencing the City's Insurance.
Mrs. Campbell knew that IF the current Insurance Company, (LEGIT) was challenged it could save the taxpayers quite a bit of money.
Well, the NEW Council majority voted to investigate these fees and get quotes from other Insurance Companies.
Low and behold, interesting how LEGIT came back with a NEW bid $95,000.00 LESS than what they had been charging. Now I want you to think about this. IF Barrie Tilghman and Mike Dunn had simply allowed this to go to bid the City could have saved around $600,000.00!
This is EXACTLY why I am interested in being your next Mayor. These people don't know how to run a business. It would appear its all about special interests and that will end.
Thank You Debbie Campbell and the City Council.
Always follow the money--who owned the Insurance Company that Tilghman protected? Thank goodness for Debbie Campbell, Terry Cohen and Tim Spies.
ReplyDeleteyep- smart voters have known it all along...THANKS DEBBIE!
ReplyDeleteYes thank goodness for Debbie, Terry and Tim! For years the ONLY one who actually ever did their duties was Debbie Campbell. She never wanted to jump into something without having 110% of the info in front of her. All the others were too damm lazy and thought they were above doing what whas expected of them by the taxpayers and voters.
ReplyDeleteThen the DT's comes back with the half witted excuse of they "trusted." (WWTP) That's brilliant.
To just "trust" without the proper investigations is just opening yourself up to failure esp considering google seach shows this firm that just settled with the city, did/does have quite a few lawsuits going and did when the city hooked up with them.
Only a fool would jump into a project as costly as the WWTP based on "trust."
Competition will certainly drive down the prices. You have to check your auto insurance every year for the best rates, otherwise they just keep billing you.
ReplyDeleteBarrie Tilghman and her lot wouldn't take bids because of her close association with LGIT.
ReplyDeleteWe finally have an honest hard working, well informed council majority, how refreshing
ReplyDeletea shout goes out for those who want to oversee the use of my tax dollars. i take all of this spending and saving personally and appreciate those who do the same.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I vote for a full and transparent audit. I would imagine that this is probably the tip of the iceberg. ...you've got my vote.
ReplyDeleteThat's just it-the mayor and council must take all the spendings and saving personally also or be called out on it.
ReplyDeleteWould they have been so fast to spend 10's of millions of their own money on a project based on "trust?"
Now I guess Dunn "trusted" without question that the insurance company was giving the city the best rates also?
BT was on the board of directors of LGIT back in her day. Not questioning the abilities of LGIT just the conflict of interest potential Would the new ethics law applied recently have disclosed that?
ReplyDeleteSure would 5:42 and also would make it available online to the public.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, Debbie Campbell. Thank you, Tim Spies for thanking Debbie Campbell.
ReplyDeleteBOO HISS to Laura Mitchell who tried to downplay as nothing and possibly horribly risky (even though an insurance expert analyzed Salisbury and recommended it).
That woman can't stand for ANYONE other than HER to get credit for anything!
Towns should beware of LGIT and do their homework like Debbie did. They are not the cheapest when comparing apples to apples.
ReplyDeleteLaura Mitchell is just Jim boy's stooge
