Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Saturday the young people who
turned out in droves to vote Barack Obama into office were promised
“pie in the sky” — but what they got was “pie in the face.”
Commenting on a recent Fox News poll that pegged young voters’
support for Obama about 10 points below its 2008 level, the Fox News
host said it’s not surprising they might feel disenfranchised.
“A lot of these kids who were all excited about Barack Obama four
years ago either got out of college or they’re in college now,” Huckabee
said during Fox News’ “Fox & Friends Weekend.“ ”What they’re
finding, they’re $45,000 on average in student debt when they got out of
school and they can‘t get a job and they’re moving back in with mom and
dad. That’s not exactly the hope and the change they were looking for.”
