It's been reported that Joe Carmean, (Editor of the Daily Times) was to be fired yesterday by Greg Bassett. As of late yesterday, his name was still on the staff directory, but it is no longer there now.
Interestingly, Sarah Lake is still listed.

Looks like the DT's are making cya moves before the lawsuits start. Carmean just couldn't resist being delusional. The plot thickens.
ReplyDeleteSo you were right. It was Carmean behind it. Once they saw he had lied by showing both calls coming in at the same time it was curtains for him. Ireton has a lot of explaining to do too.
ReplyDeleteWill the Daily Times pubish the truth this time or will they sweep it under the rug. Will someone finally get arrested by the chief of police. I'd demand a public apology Joe.
ReplyDeleteA friend just called and told me about this article. Holy crap. I have friends at the Washington Post. I'm sending links to all your articles about this matter. I really didn't want to believe it was true but this tells the whole story. Bassett demoted, Carmean fired and Lake resigns. Maybe they'll bring in a new crew and straighten out this mess.
ReplyDeleteBassett needs to go next. You called it Joe. It was the final nail in their coffin. Now if only someone can do something about Joel Todd's wife feeding Taylor all the states attorney inside information the rest will crumble.
ReplyDeleteI'll be damned. Sorry. That hunk of crap needed to go a long time ago. Noone can deny you any more. You spoke the truth and the liars have been eliminated with the exception of one. It is time to impeach Jim Ireton.
ReplyDeleteI agree. That picture you showed of the phone calls yesterday really spoke volume. There was no way they could have pulled this off when both calls came in at the same time. Some investigation there chief. Seems to me the chief took their word and Carmean was caught. You made the right move Mr. Bassett.
ReplyDeleteMayor Ireton, will we ever know the truth behind what you've done. At this point I believe Mr. Alberos side of the story. How can we be expected to ever believe what the Daily Times is telling us any more. I will never buy another paper again. This is outright disgusting and another embarassment to the eastern shore. The local media should have done a better job investigating this story. You would expect when a police chief puts out a final police report it would be complete. The fact they never interviewed Mr. Albero tells me it couldn't be complete. The press simply told what they were fed and I believe that is based on a trust between supposed professionals. The daily times knew the whole story and they tried to cover it up. Hire a good lawyer Mr. Albero. You've worked hard for many years and this may be your biggest payoff ever.
ReplyDeleteCan someone please tell me what happened? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI thought Bassett was demoted? He can still fire others over there?
ReplyDeleteThe heads are beginning to roll ...
there once was a guy named albero
ReplyDeletewho took on the politboro
they tried to deny
what he said
but they lied
now we will see who's the hero
At this point I wouldn't trust that police report nor the mayor to save my life.
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought Bassett had been fired, not just demoted a half a notch. Now he's throwing his hissy fit that he is catching from our favorite hissy fitter, Ireton! This is getting really soapy here! I can't wait for tomorrow's chapter.
ReplyDeleteI hope Joe does sue the Daily Times, we all know what Joe will do with the money, PAY IT Forward~! : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do Joe, and God bless your family for going along for the ride!
Is the Salisbury political establishment the most corrupt and inept group of buffoons this side of Chicago? To many, the current mayor certainly now appears to be an inept, dishonest clown.
ReplyDeleteJoe Carmean was indeed fired Friday, and before he was escorted from the building, he killed/deleted a bunch of weekend stories.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the new police chief has ruined her credibility. The worst thing a police officer can do
ReplyDeleteCorrection: Joe Carmean, before he was escorted from the building, didn't kill/delete a bunch of weekend stories. He killed/deleted ALL the weekend stories.
ReplyDeleteDaily Times staffers suspect that Greg Bassett, based on his recent behavior, is drinking heavily again. Bassett cut back on his drinking years ago when his son, looking at a family photo, asked why Daddy always had a beer can in his hand. It was an eye-opener for Bassett, but now that hand seems to be grasping an old, cold friend more frequently.
ReplyDeleteGreg Bassett, despite his World Gym membership, has been noticeably gaining weight. Must be stress eating.
ReplyDeleteI guess Carmean learned a lot from the Kristy Hickman deleted file case in Somerset County. She deleted many files in the States Attorney office after losing the election and nothing was ever done about it. That set an example for others, if you delete files, nothing happens. Maybe they will do something to Carmean, one would think this should be a crime.
ReplyDeleteThe Daily Times staff probably doesn't know how to delete those employees from the directory.
ReplyDeleteNothing is ever really deleted on a hard drive, that is unless you remove the hard drive and completely destroy it. If they had someone there smart enough they could recover the lost articles. However, as far as smarts there, I some how doubt they will be recovered.
ReplyDeleteReally Joe, Thanks, there may be more to come yet, but after all these years the Karma has hit The Daily Dump. It was a train wreck waiting to happen.

She has definitely lost credibility as a law enforcement officer. She reminds me of how Webster bowed to Barrie Tilgman.
Why is local media (haha) spending so much time worry about Joe Albero?
ReplyDeleteI know much doesn't happen around here but why fixate on one individual?
Or did I answer my own question? lol
Why can't some genius out there invent a Salisbury game. There can be a computer version and a board game. This entire phone call scenario can be the theme of the game with little plastic figures representing all of the key players. The object of the game will be to determine the most probable outcome based on all variables. The great thing is that the end result will never be exactly the same.Just a thought.
