Narrative: On 10 May 2012 at 11:00 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office located Joseph Hamilton Brown in Salisbury, MD. Brown was wanted on two District Court Failure to Appear Bench warrants that had been issued the previous week when Brown failed to appear in two criminal cases.
Brown was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Brown in the Detention Center on a total of $75,000.00 bond on the two warrants.

Suspect: Zora Nicole Vetra, 20, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 10 May 2012 at 4:30 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Detention Center to locate Zora Vetra. Vetra was wanted on a District Court Arrest Warrant related to Vetra attempting to bring illicit drugs into the Detention Center. On 7 May 2012, Vetra was booked into the Detention Center on CDS Possession Charges. It was discovered that upon entering
the Detention Center, Vetra had secreted both crack cocaine and a smoking device in her person.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Vetra intended to sell the CDS once inside the Detention Center.
The illicit property was recovered and a warrant was obtained for additional charges against Vetra. Vetra was brought before the District Court Commissioner on these charges and she was detained on an additional $75,000.00 bond.

Incident: Assault

Location: 28000 block of Old Eden Road, Eden, MD
Suspect: Michael Bruce Warncke, 35, Eden, MD
Narrative: On 11 May 2012 at 9:32 PM, a deputy located Michael Warncke at his residence in the 28000 block of Old Eden Road in Eden, Warncke was wanted on an arrest warrant related to an assault and vandalism case.
On 10 May 2012 Warncke allegedly accosted a patron at the Valero convenience store on Stockyard Road and chased him in a vehicle from the parking lot before assaulting him near the intersection of Old Eden Road and U.S. Rt. 13. Warncke is also accused of causing damage to the victim’s vehicle in this incident.
The victim also added that he did not know Warncke.
Warncke was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. The Commissioner detained Warncke without bond in the Detention Center.

Suspect: Reece G. Hales, 36, Sharptown, MD
Narrative: On 13 May 2012 at 12:40 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded for a reported disturbance inside a residence in the 800 block of Church Street in Sharptown.
Upon arrival, the deputy met with a female victim who advised she was involved in a verbal altercation with her live in boyfriend Reece hales that turned physical. The deputy observed signs of injury on the victim that corroborated her account of an assault against her.
The deputy placed Hales under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of a District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Hales on Personal Recognizance.

Location: 1500 block of S. Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Gordon Melvin Weitzel Jr., 55, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 12 May 2012 at 1:01 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office came into contact with Gordon Melvin Weitzel Jr., in a commercial parking lot in the 1500 block of S. Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury. The Wicomico Sheriff’s Office had received a call of an individual matching Weitzel’s description acting suspiciously on the property. Upon contact, the deputy detected an odor of alcohol emanating from the operator and suspected that Weitzel was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The deputy administered sobriety testing and upon completion placed Weitzel under arrest for DUI.
During processing, Weitzel declined an opportunity to take a breath test.
The deputy completed the processing of Weitzel and released him upon the issuance of citations.
