Traffic stop leads to police finding $16K in heroin

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -A traffic stop and a strange request led to a huge drug bust in Annapolis earlier this week.

About $16,000 in heroin was uncovered about 4:30 p.m. Monday when police pulled over a Lincoln on Frederick Douglas Street because it didn't have a front license plate.

Officers said they discovered the driver, 20-year-old Deon Matthews, had a suspended license. Police said his passenger, Demarrow Williams, 20, had three bench warrants out for his arrest, and they also found drug residue and bogus painkiller prescriptions in the car.
