Laurel, DE- A 35 year old New Jersey man and a 31 California man have been arrested by Delaware State Police after they were found to be in possession of over 7 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop yesterday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:53 p.m. yesterday, May 8th, after a trooper on routine patrol observed a Chevrolet HHR fail to signal a lane change as it traveled on southbound US 13 in Laurel. The trooper conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and then made contact with the driver, later identified as Chad E. Newsome. The trooper became suspicious of Newsome and a passenger, Thomas M. Harrison, after questioning them and asked to search the car. A search of the car was then conducted at which time a blue black duffel bag containing two cellophane wrapped packages were located in the trunk. The trooper then located four separate packages containing a total of 7 pounds of marijuana inside of the cellophane wrapped packages.

  1. Lol it always cracks me up when police provide a description of what happened, he witnessed a "lane change wihtout signal" which he probably witnesses 10000000 times a day and decided to pull this car over. Just like Lewis and his "mud flap" violation. Too freaking funny. Guess it had nothing to do with how these two appeared...
