Salisbury News Gets The Scoop Anyway

Dave White, President of the Wicomico County Education Association is calling the County Executive and County Council liars. His claim is that there is more than $2,000,000.00 floating around the County can pony up to the Board of Education without hurting services.

Its no wonder Mr. White didn't want Salisbury News present. EVERYONE who doesn't tell the truth runs very scared of Salisbury News and they should. You know how a piece like this will work in the Daily Times. They will side with the educators every time because they are so tight with them.

On May 30, 2012, the Wicomico County Education Association held a press conference to present the results of an external audit which demonstrates that Wicomico County can provide the Board of Education with additional funding to keep our schools great, without raising property taxes further than already proposed by County Executive Rick Pollitt and without affecting the funding to any other departments. This audit was done using publicly available financial information made available by the Maryland Comptroller and Wicomico County.

As far as I'm concerned this comes from a lobbyist hit man who was hired by the Teachers Union to, (of course) find money they want. I never did receive the information Mr. White assured me I'd receive today but with enough digging I found out exactly what happened.

He didn't send me the information because they are afraid of Joe Albero and Salisbury News. More importantly, they're afraid of the truth. They are afraid that if the information gets out there without their twist they might lose their attempt to scam the taxpayers.

Mr. White, don't give your word and make promises you can't keep. I've been doing this for far too many years to get thrown off the bus. Mr. White would like the public to contact their representatives, (of course by taking his word, of which he's already proven to be a liar by not sending me the information he promised) and tell your officials you support his findings. PLLLLEEEEASE!

I say, contact your elected officials and THANK them for not falling for a lobbyist's BS.

  1. Last I remember we didn't elect Dave White or this lobbyist to spend our tax dollars for us.

  4. Thanks Joe for being so determined to get the real story. I saw the table full of "educators" sitting at the table tonight on the news. They didn't bother to tell everyone the extra $2 million is for larger raises for the teachers and more extensive health and retirement benefits. Please give me a break. These cry babies need to get back work and let those who were elected make the decisions where our tax $ are needed.

  5. Those disgusting people just need to leave the running of this county to those people in the offices. Do they really believe we locals are going to trust someone who sounded like their expert. Not this local for sure.

  7. Lobbyist= Robert J. Pellicoro & Associates, 5008 Russett Road, Rockville, Md 20853. Check him out and see he has done the same things for Teacher's Associations of a lot of other counties. And, by the way, it looks like his office is home-based, too.

  8. I have lived all of my life in Wicomico County and have never seen the the educators as bad as they have been since Freddie came on board. We have had some real winners as our superintendents but Freddie takes the cake.

  9. I didn't believe a word that was reported tonight from this press conference today. It was all B.S.

  10. I saw through what the teachers association was attempting to do today. They didn't fool this taxpayer.

  11. Wicomico County School System to include all leadership and BOE can't be trusted. This has been obvious for the past several years.

We haven't believed you for a long time. County Council, please continue to watch everything they say and do. Check and recheck their accounting. They love shell games and always have. Thank you County Council for your oversite...

  12. Dave White is a Patsy for John Fredericksen. He is the same one who ratted out Messick and Moses to get them fired by Fredericksen. Some union leader he is.

  13. The lawless teachers union is trying to rally up enough employees to bombard the Council meeting on Tuesday. A tired tactic employed when they feel the need for a pay raise.

  14. The picture on wboc.com shows Dr. Freddy and what looks like past BOE member and current BOE employee Mark Thompson along with WCEA reps at the so-called press conference. The only "audience" pictured is Tracy Sahler, of the BOE. What a crock. The BOE board needs to reign in the union and the superintendent and his lackeys. Andy Markel's response is direct and straight forward. The WCEA audit makes assumptions and estimates. It is not based on fact.

  16. The BOE's Smoking Gun(this so called audit from this lobbyist) just backfired. This just shows how money hungry greedy the BOE is and will stop at nothing. Mr. Pollitt don't let them bully you into something that is wrong for our county and its' future. We are 100% behind you.

  17. Taxpayers, we need to show up at the council's hearing and let our voices be heard. They could do it with $36 plus million with their first budget and a few weeks later they need $38 M. Give me a break.

  18. Ratting out implies he told the truth about Stephanie and Stacey. Don't believe that. They were fired because they had asked for an independent investigator to look into Dr. F.'s conduct. An excuse to get rid of them was needed.

  19. Joe, I don't know this David White, but to me, it looks as if he treated you badly and just plain wrong.

I think you need to repost this at the top of you page for today to let him stew about how he treated you. It says a lot about the man when he can't even be honest and keep his word.

  20. I'm sorry but I don't understand their logic when they say "additional funding to keep our schools great". First of all, our schools AREN'T great. They are pathetic, the kids can't do basic math, they certainly can't write and they have the mindset that it's all about them. We could throw money into the BOE but it will not change the outcome. The education system is broken, period. The kids have no respect for their elders which includes the educators. The educators aren't teaching, they are coaching the kids to ensure they pass the required standardize tests.

I feel sorry for the families who truly want their children to learn and they are stuck with "the public school system". Thats why we need a voucher system so these families could send their child to a school that actually teaches. Also this would force the BOE to do a better job or they could lose a large chuck of funding due to a high number of vouchers being exercised.

  21. AMEN!!! 10:04AM You have hit the nail right on the head. The BOE just doesn't seem to understand that the taxpayers except better results from their investment. And all the teachers and BOE can do is cry about dollars. Get real and accept what is and go on down the road. Do a better job in the next 12 months and then see which direction the wind is blowing.

  22. "The educators aren't teaching, they are coaching the kids to ensure they pass the required standardize tests."

As a teacher, I'm a little tired of hearing such statements. I spend an average of 70 hours a week on my job which includes creating lesson plans that inspire, engage, and educate the youth of Wicomico County. I've done so on a limited salary which hasn't been increased in four years, and a limited amount of classroom funding ($50.00/year), and I too have a family to feed, a mortage to pay, and am a taxpaying citizen. I'm a dedicated professional, and one that takes my job seriously. STOP villanizing the teachers in Wicomico County.
