Joe,
I don't know if you have read this story yet but I think the sentence is bull and have started a petition to try and get sentence vacated. I will include a link to the story and a link to the petition if you wish to read and sign.
Feel free to share on your blog.

Thanks.
yeah right! even a jury found her guilty, Then the judge also found her guilty. she was not in fear for her life, she was angry, she had been arrested for assualting 0him in the past also. This is just a simple case of two spouses who couldn't get along and now they are clogging up the courts and you want us to believe it's about a poor woman who was beat sneseless! next it'll be about instutional racism of the courts since the libs aren't getting what they want!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to use up Joe's time and space and ask for my signature then at least find a more worthy cause!
stick your petition where the sun don't shine!
Thank you Joe.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe.
ReplyDeleteI already signed this yesterday. What happened to stand your ground in this case. She didn't even shoot anyone.

ReplyDeleteIt's more about the sentence than the conviction, but that's another issue the state of Florida's Congresswoman is taking up.
If you don't think it's worth the time, that's up to you.
I suppose you think 20 years is justified for firing warning shots?
There was a MURDER 20 miles from where this happened and he only got 15 years.
Some people never get it until it happens to them.
If I was in fear of my life not only would have I got my gun, I would have done more than fire a warning shot.
ReplyDeleteThey went from a 3 year plea, which she refused, to a 20 year sentence. She gets 17 more years because she stood up and took it to court?
If what she did was so terrible to warrant 20 years, why even offer a plea of 3 years?
Sentence does not fit the crime.
she was not in fear for her life, she was angry,

How do YOU or anyone else know what she was feeling?
Regardless, if she was happy or sad it doesn't matter. NO ONE WAS HURT.
Too bad we can't legislate common sense. We desperately need some.
She got 20 years due to her prior record. FL has a 10-20-life law. She gambled and lost.....should have taken the plea

She did not. At least read the story if you want to comment.

ReplyDeleteIt's people like you that allows a police state to succeed.
Lock everyone up then cry the prisons are over populated, states don't have the money to run the prisons, complain tax monies are used to house them, etc.
This sentence is just plain wrong and unnecessary.
She gambled and lost.....should have taken the plea

Yup, bend over and take what we offer or we will put you away for life.
No thank you. I will not hand over my rights that easily.
I realize some of you will, and that's your choice.
We are supposed to control the government, not the other way around.
Corey said she had offered Alexander a plea bargain that would have resulted in a three-year prison sentence, but Alexander chose to take the case to a jury trial, where a conviction would carry a mandatory sentence under a Florida law known as "10-20-life."
