MICHAEL STEELE: PLANNED PARENTHOOD WORKED 'TO ELIMINATE AND LIMIT' AFRICAN-AMERICANS

“It is one of those twists of history that I’ve yet to understand and how when you look at something like the NAACP siding up with an organization like Planned Parenthood that has as part of its history and its charter and its existence — you know, the use of abortion to eliminate and limit the number of African-Americans and other minorities in this country, to me it’s just beyond the pale."

  1. For those who don't know history it was Margaret Sanger, liberal female activist who thought that this would be a good idea to help eliminate the "undesirables" of the world. Soon after Hitler thought some of these ideas were great ones and decided to use them.

  2. 736-Right on. Too few people know the truth, or want to know it.

  3. You're a bit off, 7:36. Sanger who was the founder of Planned PARENTHOOD (notice parenthood and not motherhood) would probably be considered not such a liberal today.
She was against abortion actually. It was the contraceptives that she deemed important. She felt children should only be conceived in love, born because they were planned and wanted and that parents should have a right to forego children if a hereditary disease or condition could possible be passed down.

  4. 7:51. I think forgetting history is one of the main reasons we are losing our Free Republic. While I don't entirely support the current crop of Republican politicians I will say this - at least most of them have the right idea that govt should be ruled by the people not the other way around.

Democrats and their socialist/communist ideologies are dangerous.

I fear that someday down the road there will be a great many Americans wondering exactly what happened and what went wrong but by then it will be too late.

  5. 8:51,she wanted to control the African-American population,it had noting to do what your saying.

  6. 8:51 and 9:37 - It wasn't just the African American population she wanted to control. It was homosexuals, children born with birth defects, and jews.

THAT was what it was about and 8:51 you are misinformed if you think otherwise.

  7. She was absolutely against abortion. She felt only parents (black/white it didn't matter to her-check your facts) who could afford children should have them, hence her promotion of birth control.
She was even quoted as saying something to the effect that parents should have to fill out an application before becoming parents.
Yes, Sanger wouldn't be considered such a leftist feminist today.

  8. 7:40 - you are misinformed. She sold PP to the general public with feel good words. Go back into her writings and missives and you will see a much different picture.

A word of advice - never take anything at face value. Ulterior motives don't show themselves up front.

  10. OMG the anti-abortion people pull this rabbit out of their hat every time it suits them to paint the PP org as racist. They claim PP has murdered more blacks than the KKK and its all bullcrap intended to damage PP.
Sanger was a feminist before her time.

  11. 1:34 Well let's see - since PP started the practice of abortion they have killed about 53 MILLION human beings. I would argue that even if a third of them were black thats more than the KKK killed.

And while I believe abortion should remain legal I think it's horribly abused and the fact that Roe V Wade was never intended to use tax payer money for the main reason that it was DISRESPECTFUL to those that believe life begins at conception.

    PP has screwed us all.

  12. Abortions are not funded by tax payer money. I would not have an abortion but do think that women (black, white, ) have the right to have them. Tax payer assistance to Planned Parenthood goes toward gynecological visits, pap smears, evaluations and education for STD's, breast exams...womens health issues. A lot of women go to Planned Parenthood for reasons other than abortion. If the African American community feels that Planned Parenthood is trying to reduce or eliminate thier race then they should not go there. I don't believe that PP's plan is do this. I wont argue about why it was founded or the biases that existed then. That was then this is now and this is a completely different world.

  13. 6:50. Please do your homework and stop listening to the liberal media which will steer your thinking towards what you want to hear.

PP does in fact take lots of tax dollars to fund abortions. In a couple of states (like Kansas) it takes money for partial birth abortion.

There is a woman whose name I don't remember that actually ran one of the clinics. She is now on a crusade to tell America what really happens inside of PP. And she is not alone. Sadly there are many who have a story.

So yes, your tax payer dollars are in fact funding abortions. Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Or just sick and disrespected like some in this country who were told one thing and had something else happen.

It's why the anti abortionists are so vocal.
