ReplyDeleteWell gee, that makes it okay then.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see the level of prosecution. The victim was crossing at a non-crosswalk and if the driver was not drunk and fled, he would not have been charged, becuase clearly the victim was at fault for crossing coastal in a non-crosswalk. Should be an interesting trial, most likely the victim had been drinking. All the time Ocean City continues to put up with this with their over abundance of bars and alcohol dispenseries and knowingly drunk people walking and driving everywhere. If they dont want to cut down on the bars and drunks everywhere, maybe they should make vehicular traffic illegal, except for buses and emergency vehicles.
ReplyDeleteok lets not forget the life of a young 22 year old man has ended because someone chose to drink and drive have you never crossed in a non crosswalk area.. people please show some compassion my heart breaks for his family ..I have to sons that work in oc every year..remember when you were 20 yrs old.. ~God bless him and his family .
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this young man lost his life, but Ocean City has a problem with pedestrians stepping out in front of traffic whether alcohol is involved or not. Simply getting rid of the bars is not going to solve that problem; people are here on vacation, alcohol is going to be abundant. Something needs to be done to accommodate the influx of pedestrian traffic, because as long as there's someone willing to chance stepping out in front of a moving vehicle, there will always be at least one fatality.
