Dog owners shouted in support of their pets Tuesday at a rally outside the State House to oppose state-sanctioned consideration of pit bulls as inherently dangerous animals.
The rally on Lawyer's Mall was organized in response to a Maryland Court of Appeals ruling that considers pit bulls inherently dangerous animals. Pit bull owners disagree with the court ruling and they're fighting against any breed-specific legislation.
"The problem is I don' think a lot of people understand the implications of this and all the misery and suffering that's going to happen because of this ruling," a protester told 11 News.

If the ruling is not changed during this legislative session thousands of dogs are going to die.
ReplyDeleteEverywhere you look there are signs of people not properly securing their dogs.A lot of these people don't walk their dogs, but prefer to "let em out".If everyone would just assume their dog cannot be trusted we would all be better off.The "beloved pet syndrome"may be the biggest culprit. That comes when any given dog owner just can't imagine how their precious dog could possibly display aggression toward humans.Never ever put 100% of your trust in a person or an animal.Keep them secured on a chain or in a pen(your dog that is). Those who don't deserve everything they get.
