Congress Isn't Just Stalemated, It's Broken, Experts Say

Washington - Congress isn’t just stuck in partisan and ideological gridlock: It’s broken.

Once again this month, and probably throughout this year, lawmakers are mired in stalemates over what used to be routine solutions to commonplace issues.

They can’t agree on freezing student loan interest rates, which are due to double July 1. They’re stymied on highways and infrastructure policy. They’re fighting over laws that protect victims of domestic violence.

  5. Yes, we probably should LadyLiddy as these career politicians have forgotten the meaning of representing for a common good.
Most are representing for their own individual good or the good of their own clique known as Congress. In the end it does not matter whether they are dems or reps (for the most part) because they really are fond of each other and view themselves as special and elite and view us as dumb peons who they can continually fool and trick while they become multi millionairs sucking up to big business.

  6. They have the only job where you can produce nothing, screw up everything you touch, accomplish nothing (except making yourself, your extended family, and your rich friends even richer), work about 3 months a year and STILL KEEP your job. If you had a private sector job and had a performance record like them, you'd be fired in a week. And you wouldn't be allowed to get your pension for life, either. But lets give the (which is it this time around? Republicans?) another chance at "fixing" things. Then in a few years, we'll go ahead and give the Democrats another chance. Its working great so far, isn't it?
