Yes! The only thing would would hurt is the xx.99 sales, and the only time you get a penny back is in DE with no sales tax! I am all for getting rid of all coin currency, the way inflation is going nothing will be under $1.00 here soon.
My kids piggy bank will be a lot lighter with only paper currency in it. Come to think of it maybe I just need to open a paypal account for them so I can send them their allowance electronically.
Look, be careful what you wish for... Canada did it, some others will follow suit if not already in the works to do so...
Secondly, keep in mind that the govt can still put tracking devices in paper money so the whole point of the govt to get rid of paper money isn't because they want to go to credit cards or digital data... it is so your not free... with paper money you are not bound by the same regulations or rules as digital data or credit cards...
the govt wants us on digital data, so they can cover up what ever they steal... Not to mention they can just take all your money or lock you out of your money when you need it... Trust me when I say, the intentions of getting rid of currency is to control you or to be able to take when they want and you cant stop them at that point...
I'm curious about exactly how Canada did that.I know the production of pennies ceased, but will the Canadian treasury retain all of the pennies received from banks and businesses in general? It sounds as if they will be removed from circulation as quickly as possible. We currently have 9 times the population of Canada.Getting rid of the US penny would be a much more difficult task, but I'm for it.
