Study: Cable Bills Could Reach $200/Month By 2020

Right now, the average monthly cable bill — not including any bundled phone or internet services — is around $86. But industry analysts say the non-stop slap fights between cable companies and content providers is only going to send that price soaring in the years to come.

  1. Since Cable is a luxury and there are other choices out there. I will just cancel my cable if it reaches over 1 hundred per month. I only watch a few channels now, and its mostly local that I can get anyway with my antenna. I am making half of what I used to make 5 years ago do to corporate downsizing. TV sucks anyway!

  3. Simply pull the plug! We are contemplating doing that right now since even with our Basic cable service we end up paying for something that at times does not get used every day..not to mention that when the cable box is "off" it really is on a "standby" mode. Check and feel the heat from your box when you think it has been off for a while. If you cut the power to the box then when powering it up you will have to wait a while for it to "phone home" and load your channels.
Well... the cat sure enjoys it in the winter time.. Hmmm...no cable box...no cat...another unintended consequence!

  5. I don't mind paying what I am at this point for my cable and internet, but my problem is almost every month, I'm on the phone with Comcast because either the tv is not working right or the cable is on the fritz. What good is that?
I've about had enough. I've even spoken with Regional Managers at Comcast a few times because I've had so many problems.
Fix your services Comcast and stop "upgrading" until you fix the existing problems or you'll lose A LOT of customers!
