Salisbury University

Hi Joe,

I have a daughter that is a student at SU. Last night there were two separate incidents there. One home invasion and one attempted rape. All students received messages but I think all that live in that area should be aware.

  1. Wow. This is the kind of stuff the media needs to let us know. And they just cover it up.

  2. They like to say there up to date with the latest technology but dont have a system that warns students when something happens that they need to know about.

  3. S.U. Does not and will not report crime on campus or student related. They got to keep the money coming in with student registrations. Someone should file foia for the number if students suspended or expelled in a yearly basis for crimes that happen on campus that are not reported to local or criminal charges filed. People would be surprised at the number of drug dealers, rapist, and mentally defective students on campus. Especially on the sports teams that have winning records "hint hint".

  4. The campus police are a very disorganized organization with so much inner drama and strife that concentration is not on keeping students and faculty safe but rather putting out internal fires. Very poor leadership. And not a healthy, happy work environment for campus police.

  5. Do you people have any idea what you are saying when you say it? DId you even read the post which actually says "All students recieved messages, but I thought they should be made aware." The system has an emergency alert system which can be used by every student if you set it up with your cell number. I do agree the local news covers up crime to keep the area some what respectable, but to say that the University allows "Drug dealers, rapists, and mentally defetctive students" to walk around on an open and knowing basis is absolutely stupid. I would assume neither of you that has left a comment attends the University?

  7. I am a evening student and did not receive a message. Therefore, not all students received the message.

  8. It seems the board of Ed and Salisbury State have an agreement not to publish or report all that happens on their grounds. They don't want the public out cry.

  10. Their priorities are mixed up and they would rather sweep this under the rug than deal with it.As with the campus police, they get off chasing kids on bikes than keeping kids safe.

  12. You cant put all the blame on SU PD. You can only do so much when your 4 officers short has well as 3 security guards short. The blame needs to be put on the ones who sit in their nice office an wont allow the hiring process to take place. But believe me has stated above talking with officers at SU PD. there are issues in the department. Maybe a reshuffle is needed. It helped my department !!!

  13. Poor police management, understaffed police department, poor morale in the police department == unsafe campus. The chief should just retire and golf for a living since he is on the range more than leading his department, and take his poor staff with him.
