Record 87,897,000 Americans Not in the Labor Force

Amid disappointing unemployment numbers that fell 80,000 jobs short of projections, another number is raising eyebrows: the number of Americans not in the labor force has hit a record high 87,897,000.

  1. That can't be right. People around here say there are plenty of jobs but people too lazy to work.

  3. Let's see, the unemployment has fallen from over 10 % down to 8%, 6% in some states, yet a record number of Americans are not working.

Math is NOT our King's strong point!

  5. But...But....But...."they" said it's getting better. "They" said the economy was growing. The stock market is up so the economy MUST be getting better....right? WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! Get your poop in a group people! This is all a ruse to get people to put their money back into the system one last time. Those wealthy elite bankers will take their money out of the market just when they think that everyone is "all in". This will precipitate a collapse and the wealth of the everyday working person will be stolen away from them. Like sheep led to slaughter we were fooled out of our money - once again. But fear not. Most of those who have carried this thing out will not be prepared for what follows and money will not buy them out of it. Those of us who are prepared will make it. Wake up and see what is in front of you.

  6. Why work when you can collect unemployment for nearly two years! People just aren't looking anymore.

  7. The problem being when this # tops 100 million, the EU fails, and the unemployment and welfare/medicaid run out, (which is all inevitable now as it is unsustainable)the U.S. will fracture, inflation will dominate life. 50 dollar bread, 35 dollar milk.30 dollar a gallon gas. Millions of homeless. Infrastructure will fail, and no one will fix it. Throw in a natural catastrophe or real terrorist attack and chaos will reign.
Do YOU want this fraud in the White House?

I just got a letter from dept of labor (md) that congress passed a law and my benefit balance would be reduced. Which they did by about 1/2. They reduced the benefit period from 47 weeks to 34 and would stop paying benefits on the 21st of this month, regardless of any remaining balance.

So what I was originally entitled to, I will not be receiving.

This is the second time in my 51 years that I have collected unemployment benefits. And the first time was seasonal. Laid off in the winter and return to work in the spring.

And yes, I too believe most people have stopped looking for work. Work that does not exist. Jobs that are not there.

And kick the rest of us off the dole and make the numbers look even better. It's magic.

It's BS is what it is. Some believe it, others don't.

I think I know what you believe. Whatever they tell you to.
