Is History Going To Repeat Itself?
America was founded and established because the British were taxing us too much. We fought and won our independence and look how bad the liberals have screwed us up.
Between O'Malley and Obama, they're raising taxes and forcing local municipalities to raise taxes to the maximum level, just as Wicomico County is now preparing to do this budget session.
Wayne mentioned today, the rest of the state doesn't realize the special problems we have in Wicomico County and the taxpayers simply cannot afford these increases.
With all due respect Wayne, THEN STOP SPENDING. STOP THE PAY RAISES. Tell Mike Lewis to drive his Durango for another year or two, (as an example). Tell Rick Pollitt to STOP making all those trips to Annapolis. Please, I beg of you, tell us how those trips are working out for us!
I have a strong feeling that there's going to come a point where the citizens are going to revolt. Cable Companies are demanding $200.00 a month for cable access. A gallon of milk is through the roof. Groceries are just too expensive for far too many people. People will learn soon enough, either most become completely dependent on our government OR they'll take up arms and fight once again for our independence.
I, (for one) want my America back. Screw the entitlements. That's right, screw them all. Force the Churches to either pay it forward or pay taxes on ALL of their income. Its time for serious change in America.
I'm with you. I'm ready for whatever may come. I want to live free and responsibly.
ReplyDeleteI wish to make a statement based on this post. Your observation and articulation of the subject matter couldn't be more accurate. Most people have heard the phrase "Taxation without representation" but what most don't understand is that the original 13 colonies were, in fact, represented in Parliament. Most people were just not pleased with the level of representation and didn't feel that the representation accurately reflected the will or best interest of the people.
ReplyDeleteThink of the parallels here.
The colonists didn't approve of the level of representation provided by their government - The majority of Americans aren't happy with the current representation.
The colonists spoke out against the government and were imprisoned. Today, Americans are routinely arrested for speaking out against the government - more than ever before. (see all of those arrested for photographing police or the case where the Maryland State Police arrested pro life protestors)
The government tried to sieze gunpowder and arms from colonists which caused the "shot heard 'round the world". The DHS has recently purchased 450 MILLION rounds of one type of ammunition and has issued an RFP for 175 million rounds of another. The goal is to create a vaccuum making ammunition difficult to find in popular calibers - defacto disarming of Americans. What good are guns with no ammunition?
Many parallels exist between the time just prior to the American Revolution and current events.
The U.S. Constitution was written to prevent the government from running slip shod over the people. All government representatives from politicians to police officers take and oath to uphold that constitution and to protect the nation FROM ALL ENEMIES, FORIEGN AND DOMESTIC. That's right domestic. The biggest threat to our way of life is domestic. Large government that taxes the people without adequately representing the will of the people (see above). History will indeed repeat itself and that time is not far off. You know it, I know it....and they know it. They are preparing for the inevitable. They are buying up ammunition. They are stockpiling MRE's. They are preparing detention areas some refer to as "FEMA Camps". You are reporting on these items at a time when you can what the state of our nation degrade daily. Get ready.
I too want my America back
Amen brother
ReplyDeleteI am very tired of Conway trying to rule over us as opposed to 'we the people' ruling over him.
ReplyDeleteHe has forgotton the constitutional concept that it is 'we the people' and not Norm Conway.
So Norm Conway and Shiela Hixson - if you want to raise money then you go ahead and pay it yourself. Otherwise - move out of our way and let the people decide for themselves what we want.
It has reached the point where they are making laws to circumvent what the people have voted on and requested {cap}{protection from tax and spend}, then it has reached the point also, that WE the people must stand and fight against this tyranny. WE must ALL refuse to pay ANY county taxes until this is stopped.....if it begins and ends in bloodshed then so be it....they must be stopped now.
ReplyDeleteWell said Joe! Also, 6:57...simply brilliantly written and I agree with you!
ReplyDeletemost of our churches are helping many in and out of their congregations with food, shelter, transportation, prescribed drugs, dr. appointments, utilities, clothing and much more. the money the churches get each week keeps the maintenance up for the church and all of the above.
ReplyDeleteotherwise Joe, i agree with everything else. 6:57 spot on...
donna
could have swore most of us were paying lower taxes to the feds under Obama
ReplyDeleteI agree with the post except for the last part. No, the churches should not be taxed. WE should give our tax money to the Church instead of the government. Who better to run the education and help the community? Band together, folks!
ReplyDeleteI say Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
ReplyDeleteDonna.....many are but many aren't. The catholic church spends too money defending pedophiles and building large ivory churches. Too many are focused on making money and not taking care of the poor.
ReplyDeleteOh, there is anonymous thinking she knows about the Catholic Church. The Diocese of Wilmington has absolutely zero dollars at the moment... for good or bad 77 million was given to 150 people that were abused by horrendous pedophiles. It is a scar on the church during these past decades... but St. Francis here in Salisbury gives and supports so many charities that the government could not even begin to handle.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Catholic Charities throughout the world donate and give to ALL peoples more money and goods than all the rest of the charities below it combined---(look it up)
No religion is perfect and we are all humans that are flawed, but leave your bigotry home
I do believe that churches should probably pay property taxes to support local police, fire, and other public services, but there is NO income at our church here in Salisbury--the Priests make practically nothing per year(a subsistance amount--and I know personally what they make)
So Anonymous 8:22 before should have personal knowledge of what church finances are instead of spewing basically hate.
St. Francis educates our children for only $4,000 per year... 1/4-1/3 the amount the county charges tax payers.. and btw we also pay the same taxes without sending our kids to county school(saving the county money)
So know before you just spew hatred towards a well established original Christian religion that has been around for over 2,000 years
9:29, how do you know a "she" posted the 8:22 comment. i didn't see that.
ReplyDeleteit looks like 8:22 was adressing the earlier comment 8:05 by donna.
just curious. just don't see how you got the idea that the 8:22 comment was from a "she". maybe you're confused.
You lost your moral high ground at the church comment. Churches pay it forward more so than any government program...
ReplyDeleteAnd $200 cable bill? Triple play is not a fair comparison. You can easily get cable for $40 if you Don't tack on all the extras. I have a promotional rate right now but when it runs out I'll be paying $100 for both TV and Internet, which I don't think is that awful. Heck, satellite can be had for $20/month.
My point was that they spend tremendous amounts of money on things other than helping people. I wonder what the values of their buildings are. Were extravagant buildings such as those owned by the catholic - or any other church - necessary? Woudn't that money be better spent feeding kids? I AM a catholic and I am appaled at the direction the church has taken. The practice of hiding pedophiles and moving them from church to church rather than prosecuting them sickened me to the point that I won't darken the door step of a catholic church with my shadow. But that's a subject for another time. Tbe point is that many, many churches spend way too much money on their own buildings, etc., instead of putting the poor 1st. The government should be leaving the feeding of the poor to their family members, churches, and other charities rather than taking money by force out of the pockets of every working person and distributing it to everyone as they see fit. No - churches should be tax exempt provided they behave like a church and not a political party mouthpiece - like those owned by Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Farakan. I wasn't targeting the catholic church...I was using them as an example. I fully recognize that there are many religions and individual churches that behave in a manner inconsistent with the traditional teachings.
ReplyDeletewell you can be appalled all you want, but most if not all of these churches were built decades and sometimes 100's of years ago... should we just sell them to the highest bidder---maybe we should put St. Peter's up for sale at the Vatican and put all the artifacts on Ebay and sell them
ReplyDeleteYour argument is flawed in many ways. I am not at all happy with the small minority of Priests that have behaved badly.. they should pay here on earth and God should judge them as he sees fit. But I don't throw the baby out with the bathwater... I try to make it better as a Catholic. The church is not a democracy.
But I wonder who would legislate what church is behaving the way you want it to behave and others that are not.. where is the litmus test---that is a dictator like scenario--one that goes on in China, North Korea, and old Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc... where they banned churches and religions or regulated them to death.
Remember--this nation was built on Religious freedom and should remain so. Also, the amount of money that you would collect from any or all churches pales in comparison the the huge entitlement spending that is going on that needs to be cut. Staying home and waiting for a government check is atrocious, but is encouraged by the current President.
They do not care about us. We need to do more....what ever that may be?!?!!??!!???!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you've really turned into a crybaby recently Joe. Enough with the negativity. Don't like this country? Leave. Believe it not, this country is better today than it was years ago. Want something to change? Do something about it, instead of just being another talking head.
ReplyDeleteI agree with poster 6:57... I have been saying this the whole time... No one will wake up... no one seems to care...
ReplyDeleteAnd you are 100% right when it comes to the DHS buying ammo... They are doing it to raise cost of ammo and at the same time to make it hard to get because they want gun control...
This is the exact reason why they make you provide ID when buying ammo... So they know who to watch or come take ammo from...
Don't forget to mention that either DHS or TSA is buying level 3 bullet proof booths for check points, why would that be needed you think>?
We will revolt and it will come sooner than later...
It i will be here from now until 4 years from now...
Everyone who commented on this post is paying LESS federal taxes under Obama than you did under Bush. That is an absolute fact. So why didn't you threaten revolution under Bush?
ReplyDeleteTurn off the crazy Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, they are warping your minds.
This country is not better off today than "years ago". What an idiotic comment!
ReplyDeletePollitt is in Annapolis rubbing elbows with the big boys hoping for a job in 2014.
I agree, time all churchs paid taxs too.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who earns money should pay taxes on that money bottom line. I don't care who you are.
ReplyDeleteJoe in our case I hope so with every nerve in my body!
ReplyDelete8:07 am - Please tell us all what Joe is supposed to do about this country's problems. You say "enough with this negativity", well...that's what this country has become...open your eyes and ears.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe "we the people" can do anything about it anymore. I don't even believe our vote's are counted. This country is no longer what it used to be and I for one have become hopeless to it's outcome. Our news agencies are no different than North Korea's propaganda TV. The only thing we can do is protect our own families.
Regarding the AMMO - The place we buy ammo from doesn't ask for ID. Last month, the owner said "in 6 months it's gonna be hard, even for him, to get ammo".
To anyone who thinks this country is in better shape than ever before...well, you're either a NUT or a Communist/Socialist...pick one!
