International Teachers Likely To Lose Jobs, Visas

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore schools will have to fire more than 100 international teachers because they are teaching subjects that could be taught by qualified and certified American teachers.

Baltimore schools CEO Andres Alonso met Tuesday with international teachers. He said a recent labor market test the
school district conducted found more than 200 American teachers who are eligible and interested in teaching in subjects taught by international instructors.

  4. About time an American gets a job!!! Why would any school district bring teachers in from other countries, there are teachers in this country that have lost jobs and are looking for a classroom to teach in.

  5. Just the tip of the iceberg. There are 180,000 visa workers coming here every year to take jobs that "Americans don't want". Fact is, it's a business that the people brokers make a ton of money on and employers save the cost of having to pay unemployment taxes for them. Even the Town of OC hires these people over Americans where they can.
