2:19-I had a 1969 Super Bee,but 139 was the fastest I ever drove it.As you recall, the speedometer went to 150.At 139 mine started floating and scared the crap out of me.
126 in an Olds Cutlass. Driver was wearing a Freddy Krueger mask. Sadly, 2 out of the 5 people in the car that night are dead now. Died before they were 25 years old.
I came just shy of the rev-limiter on a Kawasaki ZX-10R at 192 MPH on the speedometer, but the speedometer on those really over read at those speeds. I would estimate the actual speed to be at least 170 since I know that I was going much faster than my 9.88, 145 MPH (159 on the speedometer) quarter mile at the track.
It's not the smartest thing that I've ever done, but it's one hell of an experience!
I forget now. It's been so long but at least 120mph
ReplyDeleteDriving my 1958 Ford I buryed the speedometer at 130 MPH.
ReplyDeleteI drove over a bridge where the macadam rose about a inch and my car left the ground for a split second.
It was nuts and scared me to where I never did that again.
By the way I was passed by a 1960 Chevy.
