There Are Now 900,000 Fewer Pounds Of "Pink Slime" Being Produced Each Day

With several supermarket chains — including Kroger and Safeway — opting to stop selling ground beef that contains "lean, finely textured beef," the ammonia-treated filler affectionately known as "pink slime," the company that pumps out the stuff has had to suspend production at three of its four slime-making facilities.

  1. It's the meat industries own fault for lying all these years to consumers. Everyone thought they were buying fresh ground beef when in fact this pink slime is not only processed by treated with ammonia making it not much different than eating a hotdog or bologna. The deception is the issue.

  2. Next thing is stores need to stop selling meats injected with solutions. It doesn't even say what the solution is only what the percentage of it in the meat is.
