The way we approach homeland security has drastically changed since September 11, 2001. Perhaps the most lasting and lifesaving tribute we can give to those who died on 9/11 is to better prepare our State – and therefore our nation – for the possibility of another attack, and the inevitability of the next hurricane or tornado.
Last week, I joined together with members of our Cabinet, local law enforcement and emergency personnel for one of the many homeland security training exercises we host every year. We ran through a possible scenario and discussed how we would deploy resources, disseminate information to the public and work together with local and federal partners to assess, address and mitigate the situation. These drills are one of the many ways we’re working to prepare ourselves for emergency situations and make Maryland a national leader in homeland security.
Watch this new video on our homeland security goal and share it with your friends and family.
As Maryland’s own Frederick Douglass said, “We are one, our cause is one and we must help each other if we are to succeed.” Please share this video and help us in our goal to make Maryland a national leader in homeland security.
BITE ME SHOVE YOUR BIG BROTHER CRAP
ReplyDeleteThis was such a HUGE piece of BS propaganda I almost puked listening to it. EXACTLY how many "terrorists" did we catch with that 6.4 million license plate "reads"? HUH? None? Then quit telling us how it's CRITICAL for "homeland security". And please tell me why cops and fire officials in Somerset County need to be in radio contact with cops and fire officials in Garrett County. Personally, being "number one" in "homeland security" sounds like something Hitler would say to throngs of cheering Germans just before he invaded Poland or sent his Gestapo to murder "subversives" and "enemies of the Fatherland", who, just for your information, were mostly working, taxpaying German citizens, guilty of nothing other than being Jewish or critical of his emerging Nazi movement. See any similarities? STOP falling for this rah rah lets be afraid of the boogeyman thats just waiting to get us crap they are laying on us to accept constant monitoring, photographing, "bio-surveillance" (WTF??), roadblocks and "checkpoints", roving X-Ray systems, drones, and all the other Orwellian measures they are all too anxious to impose on an all too willing to accept it populace. At least the Governor should try using a German accent when he prepares this crap for public consumption. It would help people to see the true intent.
