GOVERNOR O’MALLEY ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES OF STATESTAT VIDEOS FOCUSED ON STRATEGIC GOALS FOR MARYLAND

Videos highlight Governor’s 15 Strategic Goals to deliver results for Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Martin O’Malley released the first two in a series of videos focused on the 15 Strategic Goals for Maryland. The videos demonstrate the Administration’s commitment to tracking progress and delivering results for Marylanders.

“In Maryland, we believe that the things that get measured are the things that get done,” said Governor O’Malley. “We are committed to an open and accountable State government that works for the people of our State. Together, we can work toward implementing effective strategies to reduce crime, restore the health of our Bay, create jobs, expand opportunity and improve the quality of life for all Marylanders.”

The first of two new videos focuses on the Governor’s goal to restore the health of the Bay by 2025. Click here to watch.

The second focuses on the public safety goal to reduce violent crimes committed against women and children by 25 percent by the end of 2012. Click here to watch.

“Especially during the legislative session, it can be easy to overlook the work that State government is doing every day to improve services, increase accountability and make government open and transparent,” said StateStat Director Beth Blauer. “These videos amplify our Administration’s strategic goals and are a great way to track our progress as we work to protect our citizens’ priorities.”

Today, Governor O’Malley also launched an official “Pinterest” account with a board focused on the strategic goals.

Governor O’Malley has made a commitment to using new media to connect with more Marylanders. The Pinterest account is another way to share information and make state government work for the people of Maryland.
