Today's Survey Question 2-2-12

Do you think the Board should reappoint Dr. John Fredericksen?

  1. I think they should fire him right where he stands, though if the (old) board was competent, he probably never would have been hired.

  2. This is why we have a board. None of us really has the information to decide this unless they have had direct dealings with him. If the board feels he is doing a good job, they should reappoint him. If there is sufficient reason to not reappoint him, I'm sure they will decide what is best.

  3. Not after reading the job applications I get from recent high school graduates!

  4. I am wondering if ALL of the facts are known, or if everyone tends to be biased in their own favor. I'll wait to see how this resolves. Sometimes winning the game is not to play.

  5. anonymous 11:18, that could take years. A case like this will take a least three to four years.

  6. NO! He needs to go.

  7. NO and the Board should be elected. It would stop some of the crap taking place.
As far as Willey it just shows that power does corrupt. Sad day!

  8. Yeah fire him, than he can sue and win, just like Whittington did in Somerset. Than he can get on the school board, like Whittington did, than he can have the NAACP running the schools, just like Whittington is trying to do.

  9. NO, he is a liar and abuses his power.

  10. No, Dr. F. should not be reappointed.

  11. 11:06, You don't know how right you are. The old board was incompetent. Mark Thompson (the former WCBOE president) benefited from this debacle. Thompsom now holds a lucrative BOE position in one of the modulars. He recommended Dr. F. and was rewarded a profitable job..."Minnesota Politics Style."

  12. Joe, I'm 11:18, and should explain. I'm an employer in construction that you and your dad know well, and my point is that I get resumes, if you can call them that, from recent grads. Incoherent sentences, misspelled words, improper punctuation, run on sentences, etc. Third grade level at best.

Yes, with a leader like this, he needs to go.

  13. Absolutely not.

Fredericksen lacks the leadership skills that are necessary to run this multi-million dollar department. He doesn't even know where to cut despite his having all of the tools necessary to work with.

I say that his contract SHOULD NOT BE RENEWED!

  14. I'd like to see them fire everyone at Long Street and start all over. There isn't ONE person worth keeping from top to bottom. That include Moses and Messick and that entire department of lazy, incompetents. Hire a consultant firm to come in and run the Educational system for 1-3 years and then start over, with an elected board.

  15. His contract should not, in any way, be renewed. Also, all those involved in his hiring should be investigated. How in the world did he get hired with his previous issues?? Is this "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"? The BOE is not a place for dishonest, lying, cowardly people.

  16. PLEASE JOE POST THE TIME AND PLACE OF THE MEETING SO WE THE PEOPLE CAN ATTEND AND SHOW OUR DISAPPROVAL..WE should not allow him to be re-annointed..WE NEED A ELECTED SCHOOL BOARD...

  17. The meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 1:30. By the time the open meeting starts, though, the issue will probably have been in the closed session that takes place from 12:30-1:30. Come to the meeting by all means, but share your opinions with Board members between now and Tuesday. It is vital.
