At 7:30 this morning a Parkside school teacher Christine Wenker was arrested at the SBY airport for disorderly conduct. This woman made a complete ass of herself when she arrived at the airport late with her daughter. When her daughter was denied travel because she missed the flight, this oh not so nice, ignorant, obnoxious and embarrassment of a school teacher proceeded to go off at the USAIR personnel and then on the Deputy on duty. She was given warning after warning that she would be arrested and I guess she is deaf because she just kept on yelling and creating a scene.
Nice teachers we have in Salisbury. I'm glad my child does not go to Parkside!
Publishers Notes: This has been confirmed by WCSO.
Don't judge the school teachers @ Parkside by one bad apple. Is she always spoken of as
ReplyDelete"this oh not so nice, ignorant, obnoxious and embarrassment of a school teacher" or was this a first time incident? Perhaps there is another reason as to why Ms Wenker became enraged.
part of the osa crowd?
ReplyDeleteOccupy salisbury airport.
Good grief! Is this the example some teachers are setting for students who have behavior issues? What was the USAIR personnel supposed to do? Oh, I get it.... re-route the plane.
ReplyDeleteBoy o boy! What a good example for the kids she teaches!
ReplyDeleteWonder if WBOE will keep her on staff?
Yeah.like w-hi or Bennett is a better school? Get real parkside is by far the best high school in the area in everyday from teachers to academics and sports....except basketball. Don't shoot down parkside cause a teacher flipped out! Besides you act like you never flipped out before.who are you Jesus? Everyone has had a bad day and you have no idea just how bad this persons was
ReplyDeleteWHAT? You mean it's not the Cops fault? C'mon, I'm sure some of you facist's out there are dying to place the blame on the Cop!??
ReplyDeleteTo say that Parkside is the most academic of the high schools contradicts reality.
ReplyDelete10:53, you're right. Bennett is clearly the "most academic" of the high schools, followed by Parkside. Wi-Hi comes in last of the three city schools; Mardela is last in the county.
ReplyDelete10:18, she cannot be fired for what occurred off campus, I should think. Only is she commited a crime would she be subject to dismissal by the BOE>
Bennett? Must have kids in the district. That's OK.you gotta support your home town team/school! Truth is parkside studentd test higher than Bennett or w-hi in all academics. And also have far less disciplinary actions against students.why? The school is a better more effective place for children to learn in.it's in the numbers.not a proud parents mouth!
DeleteTruly hopes this teacher does not zap out on her students. Of course as we now know, it would be buried by the SYSTEM.
ReplyDeleteThe students will know what happened when they go home or when school lets out. Might be an on-going problem with dicipline in her classrooms.....just wondering.
ReplyDeleteGuess Ms. Wenker was having a bad day. Maybe she thinks she will lose her job if Dr. Frederickson loses. It seems we never know what goes on behind closed doors.
ReplyDeleteBennett by far has the best academics... the Best even compared to the so called elite private schools. More kids from their go to top universities than any other school on the shore combined.
ReplyDeleteWest Point, Naval Academy, Harvard, UM College Park, --a significant percentage with full scholarships
Bennett is the place to be.. No fights, problems for the good kids.. and they don't interact with the so called "bad kids".
Isn't the communities perception a small part of a teachers evaluations?
ReplyDelete@ 10:51.
ReplyDeleteThe cops are the fascists.
And what exactly was the point of your post? Just to show how people that support the mercenaries are ignorant? Ok.... we got it.
Leave the woman alone. Did it happen on campus? No. None issue. She's probably a darn good teacher upset with the gauntlet of "security" her daughter had to go through that caused her to miss the flight!
Is this us air deputy on the tax payer's dime or do the mega corps pay his/her salary?
ReplyDeleteSHe was a teacher @ Selbyville Middle SChool. She was a nice teacher and dedicated to her work. Lay off the woman, she was probably upset. The airport people and deputy were just doing thier jobs. 2 sides to every story and this case would probably be thrown out anyways.
ReplyDeleteTruth be told she did not miss her flight due to being held up at security. she missed her flight because she showed up 15 min prior to departure. We all know check in closes 30 min prior to any flight.your told to arrive an hour early. the plane was fully loaded security closed down.put the blame where it belongs on the mother cause she could not control her mouth or attitude after being asked nicely repeatedly..
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure it doesn't matter if this happened on school grounds or not. She was arrested, I am pretty sure that means she committed a crime. My last boss was fired because of something that happened no where near work at all. The perception that you do not represent your work when you are not working is false. If you damage the "credibility" of a company or work place, that is all they need to terminate you.
ReplyDeleteThese drunks we call teachers are either getting arrested or molesting our children Wicomico county deserves better.
ReplyDeleteOh, and your information regarding Parkside is so ridiculous. The kids at Bennett have not had any problems with learning--we have the most technological and awesome teachers as well
ReplyDeleteOur Principal---your old one has taken the school and made it the best on the shore.
You wish you could have our Principal back.. but you can't have him.
Go Bennett!!!!
If your going to throw stones please get your fact right Mrs. Wenker is at both Bennett and Parkside. Whe is a partime teacher for both school. And by the way Parkside has student that have gone and are going to Harvard, Naval Academy, UMD, Clemson all those bring named schools too.
ReplyDeleteYes, she does teach at both schools but why throw the schools into the mix? And if you do want to talk about schools, Parkside does have higher scores than the other 3 schools in the county. Until you have been in all of these schools, you can't judge the other. Yes, Bennett has more technology with the new school but that does not make it a better school.
ReplyDeleteMs. Wenker is a wonderful teacher. Some people just have "bad" days. We've all had them, and yes Joe your pain in the ass daughter does go to Park Side. Glad she's a senior this year. Oh and really folks...seriously we're saying who has the better school? Is it really that serious. This must be the site for white trash#ijs
ReplyDelete4:45 such insight from a young mind.
ReplyDeleteClemson all those bring named schools too.
ReplyDeleteFebruary 2, 2012 4:16 PM
Bring names?
Are these adult parents talking all this smack? Say it ain't so.
ReplyDeleteYou shout at umpires at ball games for kicks too?
Keep the kids out of this. They have enough problems without you 'soccer moms' getting in the mix.
You're not very consistent either. One day you're saying how horrible the BOE, admin, teachers, SCHOOLS, are, and now you're saying the one your kids go to is the best.
My dog's bigger than your dog. Rah-rah.
Grow up people.
2:29, sorry if I opened up a can of worms about stating that JMB is the best of the three city schools. As a now-retired teacher (and not at JMB), I've been aware for years that Bennett holds the record for "best academically." I do not have the specific scores on hand--do you?--but I am judging from criteris such as merit scholarship awards and similar criteria. If you have verifiable information that PHS exceeds JMB, please share that with us. So far as I know, PHS, while a fine school, does not come close to JMB in academic prowess. That's just the way it is. Sorry if you are a PHS student or parent, and your bubble has been burst, but that's just the way it it and has always been. And sorry to have digressed from Joe's original posting.
ReplyDelete"And also have far less disciplinary actions against students"
ReplyDeleteThat is factually incorrect. I know no one here will believe it, but if you use the data readily available from the BOE, you will see Wi-Hi has by FAR the fewest violent incidents with students. And it's not because the faculty or admins cover anything up. There are fewer fights at Wi-Hi than Parkside and Bennett.
People wake up.....Just because she is a teacher doesn't take away her human side, she made a mistake she isn't perfect...she didn't commit a crime she was arrested for her mouth....as a teacher in this county I can tell you its from your abusive children...teachers are not drunks, they work just as hard as anyone else in this county!!! for all you people who like to bad mouth teachers...take yourself into a classroom and do what we do...I bet you won't last a day!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!
Delete6:04 Did JMB make AYP this past year??
ReplyDeleteYou're right, 8:29, that is a little hard to believe (that Wi-Hi had the fewest violent incidents). Did they just not report the incidents? Not calling you a liar, just that Wi-Hi has quite the reputation. That is interesting to know.
ReplyDeleteIt’s funny that every body’s arguing over which is the better school when we all know that all the public schools are a big joke. But hasn’t every one including you been in a pressured situation before and looking back on it thought “man I could of handled that way differently”. No, this has nothing to do with school. This has to do with a parent “protecting their child” wrongly. Let’s talk about teachers leading by example. How can parents expect teachers to do something they can’t do themselves?
ReplyDeleteGo to a conference with your co workers and/or administrators. You would be surprised at stuff that happens. Besides getting drunk, they sit and talk about all of YOU who aren't with them.
ReplyDeleteYou're talking about different measures of academics. Is a school more academic if a greater percentage of its kids pass functional tests which are at a basic level or has more kids take and get high scores on AP exams, National Merit Qualifying tests, higher SAT scores, and so on? It's a matter of what means academic to you.
