On February 13, 2012, Clifton Brimer, age 26, of Salisbury, Maryland, was sentenced to a total of twenty four (24) years in the custody of the Department of Corrections (DOC) for home invasions that occurred on July 23 and 24, 2011, in Salisbury and Pittsville, Maryland. In one of the home invasions, the Defendant forced his way into the home of an elderly couple. The Defendant proceeded to assault an eighty year old male resident. The investigation into this home invasion led the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation to second location in Salisbury where the Defendant had committed another burglary and theft. During the investigation, detectives learned of a third burglary that the Defendant committed in Pittsville, Maryland.
Clifton Brimer pleaded guilty to Robbery, Burglary, and Theft, and a Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge sentenced Brimer to a total sentence of Twenty Four (24) Years in the custody of the Department of Corrections (15 Years for Robbery, 8 Years for Burglary, 1 Year for Theft).
Matt Maciarello, Wicomico County State’s Attorney, stated, “Nothing is more important to me than protecting those who are unable to protect themselves. Moreover, we strive to ensure that people can feel safe and secure in their own homes in Wicomico County. It is gratifying that the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation was able to solve this case and the public will be protected from Brimer for a good bit of time.”
