Officer Threatens To Make Up Evidence After Arrest Of Innocent Men

SEATTLE -- A Seattle police officer has been caught on tape talking about "making up" evidence while two wrongly arrested men sit in jail. It's the latest shocker uncovered by a KOMO 4 Problem Solver investigation into the Seattle Police Department's vanishing dashcam videos.

Josh Lawson and Christopher Franklin filed a claim against the city Monday for excessive force and wrongful arrest.

The two were arrested at gunpoint on November 16, 2010 and said the incident changed their lives forever. "I thought I was gonna die," Lawson said about that night.

Franklin said it was "the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced."

  1. If it had of been me that rogue cop did this too, he would have been retired by now...

  2. I went a little deeper into this department. This is an ongoing problem with SPD.

They are missing tens of thousands dash cam videos. They say.

They went to one guys boss and showed him the dash cam video of a traffic stop for 5 days earlier.

That was totally wrong. And two of the cops got a reprimand from that.

There are several lawsuits against that department. Some from public defenders office, some from news stations and some from citizens.

Police departments NATIONWIDE are corrupt. And I am so tired of hearing that these are isolated incidents. There are TOO MANY isolated incidents.

It seems like it's an everyday occurrence. How is that isolated? It doesn't even qualify as an incident. It's a TREND.
