My grandson and daughter-in-law were on the 1st flight out of Florida to Salisbury. They got a certificate to verify that. I think this will be a win-win situation the Salisbury airport and for Eastern Shore folks!
3:28.......The "little puddle jumpers" that have been flying out of SBY for years help to pay bills and put food on the table of a multitude of individuals who actually live in Salisbury and contribute to the economy here on the shore. It's great for the public to have a straight flight to Florida but please remember the "little" guys have been serving the area faithfully for a very long time so please, don't put them down.
3:28 Your absolutely right about Salisbury based Piedmont Airlinesx/US Airways Express. I think its great that Allegiant has introduced non-stop servie between Salisbury and Orlando. But lets remember, it is onoy to Orlando. US Airways can connect you from Salisbury to more than 150 destinations in the USA.
There are alot of poeple who live in our region that work for Piedmot Airlines
So many people are under the impression they are flying to Orlando on Allegiant Air. They are flying into Sanford, which is almost two hours away from DisneyWorld. So by the time you pay for a rent a car and spend the time driving, you could have flown into Orlando and be picked up for free for those of you going to a Disney hotel.
5:06 and 8:14 you must be two of the last few remaining people working for us scare here in salisbury. The only reason that airline maintains the maintenance base here is they got such a sweetheart deal on the hangars, they pay no landing fees, and their work force is only a fraction of what it used to be here. mainly unlicensed people doing the jobs licensed mechs used to do. As for us scares 150 destinations, that might be true but is it worth the high price the hassle of going through philly or flying a puddle jumper to charlotte to arrive late if at all at your destination. Drive to bwi and fly southwest if you really want to get where you are going!
