MARYLAND DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND OBAMA FOR AMERICA LAUNCH MARYLAND TRUTH TEAM

New grassroots network will defend the President’s record and respond to GOP attacks

ANNAPOLIS
– The Maryland Democratic Party and Obama for America today announced the launch of the Maryland Truth Team. The Truth Team is a new grassroots effort to defend President Obama’s record of keeping his promises and rapidly respond to Republican lies, distortions and attacks.

“When Republicans attack, we will respond,” said Maryland Democratic Party Chair Yvette Lewis. “Mitt Romney and the other GOP presidential candidates will say and do anything to get elected. Their purposeful and deceptive efforts to mislead Americans about the President’s accomplishments will no longer go unanswered. Maryland Democrats are ready to start fighting back and holding Republicans accountable.”

“From creating 3.7 million jobs over 23 consecutive months of job growth, implementing tough Wall Street reform, rescuing the auto industry, passing historic healthcare reform or ending the war in Iraq – President Obama has proved to be a strong leader who has kept his promises to the American people. The President’s supporters must take ownership of this record and protect it from baseless attacks and distortions,” said Maryland Truth Team member Judy Moylan-Forman.

“The President has relied on grassroots volunteers to talk about the progress we have made and what we keep fighting for,” said Dennie Martin, a member of the Maryland Truth Team. “In Maryland we refuse to sit idly by and let Republican lies go unchecked. The Maryland Truth Team will engage the President’s supporters, share messaging about the President’s accomplishments and pushback against untrue GOP talking points on the air, in print and online.”

The Maryland Truth Team will build on the success of the Maryland Democratic Party’s Rapid Response Network, and will be led by Chair Yvette Lewis and a diverse array of elected officials, labor leaders and grassroots activists.

  2. "Truth Teams". What a laugh.

PROPAGANDA teams are what they are.

When the TRUTH actually appears (like on this blog) they will rush to counter it with their spinmeister propaganda.

But the facts are the facts-- no matter who believes them or who doesn't.

The Obama presidency is a dismal failure, and anybody who says otherwise is either blind, stupid, or brainwashed.

  6. The word TRUTH and the name OBAMA don't belong in the same sentence together. What a joke. Only a dumbmocrat could think up something like that....
Bush has been gone for seceral years and no one still can admit they all messed it up. Congress and Obammy have failed us. but as usual it has to be somebodies fault not theirs. They are acting like little children and finger pointing. Sad state of affairs.
